3rd Point Of View

"D-Doffy?" (Y/n) stammered out, her eyes laying upon the man for the first time in years. She was in disbelief because as many times as she had imagined that they'd meet again- she didn't actually think it would happen.
"N-no! You can't be here!" (Y/n) then exclaimed, snapping out of her daydream. She shouldn't be relieved that he was here, because he could not help her. Nobody could.

"Oh?" Doflamingo scoffed, slowly stepping towards the girl with an arched brow. "I see that you have gotten braver since the last time we spoke." Doflamingo watched as (Y/n) shuffled back as he moved forward, trying to keep a distance between them. But he wouldn't have it. He used his hands to command his strings, aiming them for (Y/n)'s frail, bony limbs.

As he lifted her into the air, halting her movements, he couldn't help but notice how skinny she looked. Had she not been eating? Her skin was pale, turning a cold colour that made her seem ill. Her clothes were torn and dirty as if she'd worn the same thing for months. Despite his concern, Doflamingo decided to push forward with his bitterness. Why? Because she had betrayed him just like the rest.

"Do you remember when that was? The day you abandoned me along with that street rat?" Doflamingo then asked with a raised brow, "I expected it from him (Y/n). But you? You dissapointed me." Doflamingo tutted his teeth as he tightened the strings around the girl's wrists, attempting to feed his anger by the sounds of her pained winces.
"I had to!" (Y/n) cried back, "You killed Rosi! That hurt me, Doffy!" Doflamingo's nose scrunched with distance at the familiar name, anger fueling the darkness in his eyes at the reminder of his biggest betrayal.

"That bastard was a traitor and deserved nothing less than the demise I gave him." The blonde hissed, making (Y/n) cry out with what seemed more like anger than pain. Her fists clenched, digging her nails into her palm in order to distract herself from his words.
"Please...stop talking. You're making me angry." (Y/n) begged, her voice trembling so heavily that Doflamingo couldn't help but snicker.

"Oh? Should I be scared?" Doflamingo mocked with a grin, now stood directly infront of the girl who was strung up in the air between two trees. His intentions were not to kill her, which was the only reason (Y/n) could come up with as to why her devil fruit has not retailated.
"Yes!" (Y/n) cried out, her eyes glossing with tears as she looked at the blonde through his red specs. "Because I cannot control what it does when I'm angry!"

At this, Doflamingo paused. Did she say 'it'? His eyes flickered around the forest, activating his haki. He was certain that the two of them were alone. The nearest people were a group of marines soldiers that were over two miles away.
"Please, Doffy...I don't want to kill you too." The girl begged desperately, making Doflamingo slip off his red glasses. Sometimes, he needed to take away the red filter in order to see the bigger picture.

And he was glad that he did. Once he had taken off the sunglasses, he saw the piles of ash below his feet- black puddles of dust that he assumed to be mud at first glance. These were all people. With narrowed eyes, Doflamingo turned back to face (Y/n).
"This was you?" Was the only thing the man could ask, finding it hard to believe. (Y/n) could barely throw a punch, let alone kill dozens of what Doflamingo could only guess were marines due to the guns on the floor.

Why were the marines after her? What would marines want from a juvenile? Why was (Y/n) so terrified of herself? (Y/n) burst out in tears the moment Doflamingo asked his question, sobbing before him in the most heartbreaking way. The girl's bottom lip quivered as she cried, tears running down her cheeks and neck while Doflamingo could only watch with confusion.
"Doffy..." She cried out, making him look at her more confidently.

"Kill me." (Y/n) then whispered, completely throwing Doflamingo off his game. His lips pressed together at her request, unable to say a word. He did not understand anything that was going on. This wasn't amusing anymore.
"I don't... understand." Doflamingo muttered, his tone stern yet holding a sense of hesitation.

"I ate the life life fruit..." (Y/n) stammered, making Doflamingo freeze. The life life fruit? Wouldn't that mean that she was going to die?
"I kill everything I touch." She whispered out again, "When I get mad or scared I kill everyone in a ten metre radius." Now, Doflamingo understood why there was a circular crate of ash surrounding them.
"I can't do this anymore, Doffy." (Y/n) cried, "Kill me." Doflamingo couldn't respond. He didn't know how to.

"Kill me and I'll forgive you for Rosi! Please, just kill me!" (Y/n) then promised weakly, giving him an ultimatum. Because despite calling her a traitor, Doflamingo has just to treat her like one. If he truly believed her to have betrayed him, he would have killed her already- or at least, attempted to.
"I don't need your forgiveness." Doflamingo spat venomously, his eyes set on the floor.

"Please!" (Y/n) cried, becoming a sight for sore eyes. Doflamingo couldn't take it anymore. He couldn't watch her continue to beg him for death.
"I'm not going to kill you, angel." Doflamingo mumbled with a sigh, his strings loosening but not dropping the girl to the floor. (Y/n) was too disappointed to feel warmth at the use of her old nickname. He the heavenly demon and she the demonic angel.

"I may be ruthless but you have always been my soft spot, (Y/n). You know that. I can't kill you." Doflamingo told her, making the girl deflate with a loud sob in her throat. Then she was doomed to live like this forever- attempting not to kill others only to do it anyway.
"The life life fruit is a tricky one, I do admit." Doflamingo then told her, crossing his arms over his chest as he began to think.

"It has multi-million berry bounty given by the marines- and we all know that the marines do not want it for its power." Doflamingo muttered. Then a smirk began growing on his face, one that began scaring (Y/n) because she remembered that look so very clearly- the look of a man with a wicked idea.
"But would you like to hear the rumour on the matter, (Y/n)?" Doflamingo then asked.

"Legend says that in order to control the life life fruit, the user must pair with another devil fruit user who has an ability that represents life." Doflamingo told her, making (Y/n) freeze.
"W-what?" She asked him, unsure of both what he meant and what he planned to do with this so called legend. All she could do was watch as the man inched dangerously closer to her.
"N-no, stand back!" (Y/n) warned, scared for his life. If he touched her, he'd die.

"If I'm wrong, then I die. And maybe you can take my title as warlord of the sea? Maybe you'll take over the smile factory and even my place as Joker?" Doflamingo muttered, "But if I'm right, you come back with me to Dressrosa and join the family again." (Y/n)'s eyes widened at his proposal, her head shaking with disagreement when she realised what it was he was planning.

"I'm not going to allow you to humour me with an agreement." Doflamingo muttered as he lifted his hand towards her face. She took one last stare at his blue, ocean eyes before scrunching her eyes shut, refusing to witness his last moments alive. This couldn't be happening. She couldn't kill him too. All she could hear was the thumb of her heart beat erratically, forcing her to wait until the strings dropped her to the floor and died along with their user.

But instead, fingers brushed against the bottom of her chin, forcing her head to look up rather than at the the floor. She let out the sound of a loud inhale, her eyes still tightly clenched together.
"Look at me, angel." A smug voice said, forcing the girl to hesitantly open her eyes. She was met with his prideful gaze, moreso with himself than her.
"It seems we've got a match." He smirked, before saying,

"Strings of life."
