A week had gone by, and in that week, Hoseok had worked both jobs every day. Jungkook, on the other hand..

He's had a shower every day, but they've been the coldest, quickest showers of his life in fear of running up the water bill.

He's eaten once a day, only at dinner because he can use the excuse of cooking for Hoseok, or Hoseok has brought home food and Jungkook (unbeknownst to Hobi) has put money in random places in the apartment to pay him back subtly because Hoseok refuses to take any offered.

He hadn't touched the tv or the lights. He sits in the dark or natural lighting during the day and only turns on the main light before Hoseok gets home.

He hasn't touched the movies, the books, the gaming systems, or the radio.

Anything at all, really.

He had been trying to make himself as small and invisible as possible. He doesn't want to bother Hoseok at all for anything. Hoseok is kind and sweet, and he deserves a decent roommate if Jungkook is going to have to stick around for a while.

But with Hoseok working, he hadn't noticed.

Jungkook woke up Saturday morning and yawned as he stretched across the bed. His stomach was in knots, hungry, still tired, and still very depressed. Shownu had shown up to the office (of course), and Jimin promptly called the police to have him escorted out. Apparently, there was a lot of shouting involved, threats were made, and Shownu had been arrested.

Wednesday, he had gone to the club as usual, but he wasn't allowed to see Hoseok. The bouncers had told him as such, and he yelled and screamed about Jay being his boyfriend until he was escorted out of there, too, with a three week ban.

Jungkook felt exhausted just thinking about it. He hadn't been there, but hearing it from Tae, Hobi, and Jimin about both encounters had him upset as if he had witnessed the encounters himself. He hadn't left Hoseok's house since he ‘moved in’ he has nowhere to go, and the places he used to frequent Shownu knew about.

So it would just be another day of sitting in the dark, by himself, waiting for dinner and a cold shower.

Imagine his surprise when he left his room and found Hobi in the kitchen, making breakfast with the lights on and the radio low.

“Hobi, what are you doing?”

“Oh, hey kook” he smiled wide “I don't work at the cafè today. Go sit, I'll bring you some coffee, breakfast is almost done” Jungkook nodded and sat down at the table. He felt a little calmer, knowing he'd have company

“Thank you” Hoseok waved him off and grabbed him a mug. He got his coffee mixed and sat it in front of him. The two of them talked while Hobi cooked, and eventually, they ate their breakfast together. Jungkook didn't bring up how much food there was, and Hobi still smiled as he watched him eat it all.

“Do you want to go out and do something today?”

“Like what? I haven't gone out because I don't want to run into Shownu”

“I can find something for us to do? You don't have to worry about running into him, I'll be with you”

“Okay” he nodded

“Awesome, I'll plan the day then. You just get yourself ready” Jungkook nodded and walked off to the bathroom. He took his quick, cold shower, and as he was getting dressed, Hoseok knocked on his bedroom door. He was pretty much covered “come in” Hoseok didn't look too happy, and Jungkook's heart sank down to his stomach “what's wrong?”
