Pranks

Yuto sat in his office, chuckling softly as he watched his best friend Shun through the window on his office door. Three days ago, before Shun had clocked in for the morning, Yuto had hidden a small noisemaker in his best friend's work area. The device made random, barely audible noises at random moments, and it was clearly driving Shun crazy.

Shun growled as he could swear he heard the faint sound of a child laughing somewhere in his workspace again. He wasn't stupid, he knew Yuto was pranking him. The two of them had been locked in a prank war for the last five months, ever since Shun had replaced the black ink in Yuto's favorite pen with glittery pink ink.

Shun tried to ignore the quiet random noises that popped up at irregular intervals, but it was so hard. The noises were driving him insane. Just when he was able to focus, the noises would start up, breaking his concentration. And this had been going on for three days!

The tall man bit back a swear as the sound of barely audible scratching reached his ears. "That's it! Where is it?! I'm gonna find it if it's the last thing I do!"

He started aggressively searching his work area, startling everyone around him. But it didn't take too long for his coworkers to realize that Yuto had pranked Shun again. Their prank war was common knowledge in the office at this point.

"Are you ok, Kurosaki?" Yuya asked from behind Shun. The taller man growled. "I swear Yuto hid some kind of noisemaker in my work space, and it's driving me crazy! It's just barely loud enough for me to hear when I'm sitting in my chair, and it makes the most random sounds at the most random times, and I can't concentrate on my work!"

"Oh," Yuya said. He fished out a white handkerchief from his pocket and shook it gently at Shun, offering it to him. Shun looked at him and said, "No, I'm not surrendering! I'm going to win this prank war if it's the last thing I do!"

Yuya had been offering the white flag to Yuto and Shun throughout the prank war, in case the war got to be too much for either of them. But neither of them had any intention of surrendering. It was a matter of pride for both of them at this point.

Yuto stepped out of his office, chuckling as he passed Shun's workspace. By now Shun was removing everything from his desk drawers in an attempt to find the elusive noisemaker. The taller man scowled as Yuto passed. "Yuto you prick! Where is it?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Yuto said innocently, heading toward the break room for some coffee.

"Sure you don't," Shun muttered, going back to his search. He was going to find that damn thing, and get Yuto back when he did!

Yuto stood in front of the microwave a couple hours later, watching his bowl of ramen slowly spinning inside. The smell was so good! He couldn't wait to eat it. He turned away from the microwave for a moment to grab his cup of coffee. The eggplant smiled as he took a sip...

Only to spit it out again as the taste of coffee mixed with garlic butter invaded his mouth. "What in the hell?!" Yuto stared at his coffee in disgust. "No, seriously, what in the hell?!"

It was then that the barely audible sound of a cat meowing caught his attention. He glanced down at the table where his coffee cup had been and noticed it. The little noisemaker that he had taped to the back of the monitor of Shun's computer. Shun had found it. And pranked him back by sneaking garlic butter into Yuto's coffee.

Yuto didn't react for a moment. Then, he slowly grinned. "Good one, Shun! Okay, my turn!"

"Yuto, what the hell?!" Shun exclaimed the next morning, staring at his workspace. Which was completely wrapped in saran wrap. Everything was wrapped. His computer monitor, his keyboard, his mouse, even the items in his desk. And it was all wrapped separately. Even the paper clips were all wrapped in their own individual little cocoons of saran wrap. "How did you even manage this?! It must have taken all night!"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Yuto said innocently, smiling as he passed by.

"Oh, it's on!" Shun said, a huge evil grin on his face as he began planning his next prank. But first he needed to unwrap his workspace.
