Hound Guard

Chapter 1

The alpha paced up and down his office thinking of what to do, his pack was about to be flattened by rouges, not just any rogues the strongest rogue pack. They were so strong they wiped out all the packs in the world, all but his own which stood strong. They were going to keep attacking till one night on a powerful attack from the rogues. His son Brigs found his mate, the alpha rogue's daughter Maria. It was going great until the day of his sons mating ceremony where she was assassinated, his detectives immediately got to work and the killer was found the following week. The killer said that he was sent by someone from inside of the pack, now they are looking for a murderer in the pack. The alpha rogue was so angry he said he was going to make sure the pack fell.

The alpha kept pacing around, thinking of what to do next as all his letters to the alpha rogue Patrick were either declined or ignored, for all he cared his pack could be blown up to smithereens any day.

As he was deep in thought he heard a knock, "i'm not in any mood to talk" he said "its me  Tony" the person on the other side replied, the alpha grunted then mumbled "come in" and in the next three seconds the person was inside already.

"Any news" the alpha spoke up "no sir, the guard wolves are doing their job perfectly fine, there is no unusual happenings apart from the frequent attacks" the alpha's messenger replied. The alpha looked at him and said "then why did you come back" he was looking straight into Tony's eyes "s.s.sir I heard that the alpha Patrick is planning a bigger attack on our pack, one  huge enough to wipe out thirty percent of our population which is very underpopulated" Tony rushed words out of fear.

"Leave" the alpha ordered and he was left to his thoughts again.

Jake sat down at a rock on a training field used by students who aren't healers, he watched his mates train everyday but he couldn't join them because he had a sickness that not only made him weaker than a werewolf but also an average human. Naturally kids that don't like to fight would end up being healers; werewolves that mix potions that were  used as catalyst for all kind of injuries.

He wasn't good with that so he was practically useless and it led to him being bullied. He always wanted to be a warrior but because of his incurable sickness he could only watch from afar and train privately.

The bell rung three times and the students were dismissed from training class and he left the field as fast as he could to escape his bullies, his plan fell short when he tripped.

He stood up only to see one of his bullies, Brigs "shit" he cursed under his breath "well hello wimp" Brigs said "what do you want Brigs" Jake said facing his bully with the little courage he could muster "nothing much just my revenge hashtag sixty-seven" Brigs simply replied.

Jake remembered how because of jealousy, he put misslebane (which Brigs was allergic to) in Brigs locker which landed him in the hospital and Jake a cold shoulder from everyone on the pack even the alpha. That was when the bullying started.

"I loved her and you kissed her on purpose" he said while grinding his teeth "I loved her too and i'm gonna keep beating you till you say you are sorry" Brigs said landing a punch on Jakes face.

"Hey break it up" a new teacher broke them up, Jake knew he was new because teachers let his bullies bully him, because they feel he deserves it. "Its not over Quint" he left, giving the teacher a disgusted look while doing so.

"Are you okay kid" the teacher lent Jake a hand "yes thank you.....ill be going now" with that Jake hurried off, he was on his way to the library as it is the only place where he gets his peace, no kid wanders around there because they think all the books there are boring.

To be fair, most of the books there are werewolf history dating back to the seventeen hundreds, however Jake found them interesting so he reads them from time to time. When he got the library he sat down at one of the shelves close to the archives.

The archives was a room in the library that no one was allowed to enter except generals and lieutenants, Jake always wondered what was hidden in them. Just as he was having fantasies of the place, he noticed a dim light followed by shadows coming from the room.

Jake was surprised as the room was always closed or locked, whoever is inside must have forgotten to close the door behind, he thought. His curiosity got the best of him and he stood up to get a peek at what was going on inside the room.
