Hound Guard

Chapter 2

Jake stood up to check what was in the room, as he got closer to the room he started to hear familiar voices, he went straight to the door and took a peek, he saw no one but the voices he was hearing were getting more clearer, curiosity didn't let him rest because he walked further into large room they call the archives. Marvelled, as what was kept there, was never in his wildest imaginations. There were vases of different colours and sizes, swords, amulets, and all sort of healing items one could imagine.

The voices he was hearing were now very clear, he stood behind a shelf to hide himself. "Ali has been caught and we haven't heard from that man ever since" the first person said, "Don't worry it will all play out well in the end" the second person answered. "I cant keep hiding for you guys it wont be long before the alpha will notice and all our plan will be blown to the sky" the first person pressured "chill he just needs more time it wont be long  before we would be free".

"The detectives are closing in on the case....you just had to kill for love," "you know brigs and I loved each other dearly plus I wasn't the one who killed, I was approached with an undeniable offer it was hard not to accept" the second person finished. Jake took a slight peek at the people talking and identified the first person as the alpha's messenger however the second person's face was slightly angled away from him.

He leaned in further to see who the other person was when one of the vase on the shelf he was hiding at fell and broke, "who is there, show your face or die!" the second person whom he still didn't know called out.

"I know you are there, show your face and we won't have to go the hard way!" the messenger said. Jake could hear their footsteps getting closer, he needed to act fast or he's done for, at the last minute he got an idea.

He picked one of the broken pieces left from the shattered vase and threw it to the other end of the room, this diverted their attention on that spot giving Jake enough time to run from his position and out of the room.

On the way home Jake reviewed everything he heard and he was very shocked, not only is the alpha's son gay but he's lover had hand in Maria's death.

He needed to talk to Brigs about his secret affair with this person but that would be hard because of his history with Brigs, he was going to have to either ways so he left that for the next day.

Jake went home very happy, his boring life was taking interest in something which he can put his weak body to do. His teenage life was  finally having meaning.
