It was nighttime, and my sister had gone to her room to do who knows what. I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling and thinking of Leo, the blonde boy. He'd light up my world every time I saw him. I couldn't get him out of my head, so I decided to take a walk out in the night air, under the light of the stars. Getting out of bed, I threw on a hoodie and sweatpants, and snuck down the stairs towards the front door, grabbing the handle and closing it quietly. I stood on my doorstep and closed my eyes, breathing in the cool fresh air and sticking my hands in my hoodie pocket. I sighed and began walking down the rocky, dirt paths that ran through the village.

I stopped when I reached a treehouse on the outskirts of town. I hadn't noticed a treehouse here before, but then again, I wasn't on this side of town all that often. I looked up and noticed that the treehouse's windows had a low blue light that spilled out through them and into the night's atmosphere. I found a ladder that led up into the treehouse and decided to climb up it. When I reached the top, I flipped open the trapdoor that blocked the entrance and popped my head up into the dimly lit room, there I saw Leo, making a paper rose.

He looked up. "Oh hello." He sounded a little surprised. "Um, Hi." I responded, a little embarrassed. "I'll go." I said, starting back down the ladder. "No! No, you're okay!" He patted the bean bag he was sitting on.  "Come here!" I lifted myself onto the floor and shut the trapdoor behind me, walking over to him and sitting onto the beanbag beside him.

I watched him as he cut the petals out of the red paper, and folded them over a jar's open mouth. He did this multiple times, and I watched for a while, cutting petals out for him on occasion. He paused and yawned, stretching by throwing his arms in the air. "It's 1 am, you better go back home." He said, eyebags noticeably forming under his crystal blue eyes. "Why?" I asked, still awake. "Because I assume you snuck out, and I don't want you to get caught?" He replied with a sideways smile. I sat up straight "Ah! You're right, but I don't want to leave you here." I said with a frown. "It's okay!" He laughed "I sleep up here all the time, I've got a hommock!" I yawned for the first time, and we agreed that we would meet the next night in the treehouse.
