I was rushing down the street, watching my feet as I clutched my satchel. I just got off my shift at Marcy's Diner. It was in a bad part of town, so I had to get home quickly. I very dumbly left my pepper spray at home. I turned a corner, and ran straight into something, I fell backwards, letting out an oof. I landed on my ass, and shook my head. How did I manage to walk into a wall? Why am I so fricking clumsy?
I dusted myself off, getting ready to stand up, "You alright?" A voice asked, startling me.
I looked up surprised, coming face to face with someone with long dark hair. He held his hand out, and as I examined him I realised he looked oddly familiar, but I couldn't place from where.
"O-oh y-yeah, sorry that was completely my fault." I stuttered, taking his hand.
He helped me up, smiling softly at me.
"It's ok, it's not your fault, I was walking extremely fast." He said, rubbing the back of his head.
I looked at him again, studying his features.
"You have a good night now, watch out, it's a bad place to be so late." He told me, walking away.
I felt my face heat up, and I started walking quickly again, his face flashing through my head. Why did he seem so familiar? I groaned in annoyance as I arrived at a bus stop. Sadly it was travelling out of the city, so I couldn't just hop on and take a break from walking. I stared at the booth that was there for rainy days, noticing a missing kid poster. I walked over, taking it off. I examined the poster, placing the pieces together. The Guy I ran into, he was my neighbour's son that went missing 3 days ago.
