I didn't know whether or not to go to the police. I didn't even know for sure if it was him, he had longer hair than in the picture, and his eyes were green not blue. But he could be using coloured contacts. I'm definitely overthinking this, it was probably just someone who looked like him. I should text Rook, my best friend. If anyone knows what to do, it's her.

Me-
Are you free later?

Pwetty Gworl-
Thora its 2am wtf

Me-
There's just something on my mind right now.
It would be appreciated if you came over.

Pwetty Gworl-
Fine, you're lucky I love you idiot.

Me-
THANK YOU

I walked to my window, unlocking it for Rook. If she can get out of her house without getting caught, I can tell her about how I think I saw Talan Gray, my neighbour's son. I looked towards my bedroom door, noticing a shadow under the crack. I walked over, putting my ear to the door. I heard shuffling, going away from my door.
I opened the door, leaning my head into the hallway, "Mom?" I asked, looking down both ends of the hallway.
I sighed, noticing my older brother's door open. He's 23, I don't know why he hasn't moved out, but who am I to judge? I walked over to his room, peering in. He was laying on his bed, a playstation controller on his chest, breathing heavily. I looked at his tv, he was mid session, dozing off. I walked in, turning the Playstation off. I walked out, rolling my eyes. I closed the door, and walked back into my room, where I saw a very tired looking Rook sitting on my bed.
"Where'd you go?" She asked tiredly, stretching her arms.
"My brother left his game on, and his door was open. I heard it from here" I explained to her, rolling my eyes again.
"He's lazy. But what did you want to talk about?" She asked as I plopped down on my bed beside her.
"I think I saw Talan Gray." I told her, and her eyes went wide.
"The missing kid?" She asked, and I nodded.
Her jaw dropped, and she scoffed.
"Where? Why are you telling me? You should tell the police!" She said, standing up and pacing my room.
"Well for one, his hair was longer than in his missing poster, and his eyes were green not blue." I told her, and she looked at me like I was crazy.
"Well I have like two classes with him, he was growing his hair out, and he could definitely be using coloured contracts!" She said, loudly too.
"Shush, and I don't want to tell the police and get them on some random kid's ass." I said sheepishly.
"So? He could've possibly been that missing kid!" She said,
"Y'know what? It's too late for this, this conversation will resume tomorrow." She added, running to the window.
"Rook, wait!" I said, but she just ignored me and climbed out the window.
I sighed, rolling my eyes. She's probably gonna stop at her boyfriend's house on her way home. I don't know what to do in life anymore.

I slept through my alarm 3 times before I got up to get ready for school. After being scolded by my mom for missing the bus, I caught a ride from my older sister.
I opened the car door, stepped out and looked at the high school doors.
"Thanks Indie." I said, turning towards her.
"Hurry up dummy, I need to get to work." She said, and I rolled my eyes.
"I'll see you later." I said, shutting the door, and walking towards the front doors.
I walked in, joining the rest of the kids in the hallway. I walked towards my maths class, the only thing I could think about being Talon. When he turns 18, he's no longer a runaway/missing kid, he's a legal adult who just didn't want to be found. I walked into my maths class, ignoring the stare from Juni and her friends. They've been picking on me for my clothes for the longest time, you get used to it.
"Aww, do you have scars? DO you need help?" Juni laughed, and her group laughed along with her.
"Not really, it's really you who needs help, but who am I to judge?" I muttered, rolling my eyes, dropping my bag on the floor next to my desk.
I slid into my seat, immediately pulling out my sketchbook. I started sketching while listening to the sounds around me. I felt a tap on my shoulder just as I was finishing the bangs in the drawing, I turned my head, meeting the glare of a tired looking Rook.
"What's up?" I asked, and she sighed, falling into her desk next to me.
"I was up all night thinking about what you told me." She said, and I nodded.
"Honestly, same. I don't know how I managed to fall asleep." I said, and she nodded her head.
"I think you should write a letter about it and send it to the police unanimously." She told me,
"Then that way they wouldn't bring me in for questioning!" I said, and she nodded.
"Now I'm going to sleep, take notes for me." She said, laying her head down on the desk.
I rolled my eyes, turning towards my sketchbook. I closed it, and pulled out my maths journal. I looked up just as the bell rang.
"Ok, today's class, we will be going over the functions and applications of trigonometry." My teacher, Mr. Hart said to the class, turning on the smart board.
This is gonna be a long day.
