I STOOD NEXT to Ali as I waited to get picked into a team. I was hiding the bitterness in my gaze as my score was beaten by Aleks by a number because he helped Ali clean up the mess comot made yesterday. Well there goes my 15 minutes of happiness.
Kim went ahead to pick her team.
"Does she really have all that energy everyday?" I thought to myself, curious at how she could always carry an expressive optimist aura but I felt something was off under all of that. Maybe I'm just jealous at how Sam seems to be really fond of her.
"Wait...did I really just said that?" My eyebrows furrowed. My heart thumping at the sudden inner confession. My throat felt stuck as the realization struck my wall of ego.
My inner monologue finally was broken with Alicia calling my name for her team while I look behind her to see Ali looking confused.
"They're always a duo, maybe that's why he felt like that" I hum to myself, shrugging at Ali's gaze.
He was put into Aleks' team as my eyes follows him but my gaze suddenly moved from Ali to Sam who was looking at Kim. My heart felt a slap of anger. My eyes furrowing at the sight of his eyes, sparkling at the girl.
"God, he's a nothing, Y/N. Fucking focus on the Arena not him!" I try to push away the train of thoughts from my mind but the magnetic effect of jealousy was glueing my eyes at him.
"Y/N, Are you okay?" I heard Rudy called om me. My head turned to see the curious boy looking at where my gaze was. Oh fuck it I'm screwed.
"What's up with him that makes you stare at him?" Rudy suddenly said making my heart rushing and panicking.
"It's nothing" I quickly spat out before walking to dorm and get ready for the mission but Rudy was fast enough to catch on to me.
