April, 15th

Lilac's eardrums were filled with the rhythmic beats of the pumping radio, sending vibrations down her intoxicated body. As she gazed out of the car window, the passing cars emitted blinding lights that blurred her vision, making everything seem hazy. The trees passed in a rapid motion, their shapes blending together in a mesmerizing blur. High above, the moon's enchanting glow illuminated the night sky.

Lilac's mother—Love Walton—sat in the driver's seat, swiftly driving the black suv through the partially deserted highway. Her slender fingers tapped the steering wheel in perfect synchrony with the song playing through the speakers. Despite her composed exterior, a flicker of annoyance and worry flashed across her features as she stole a glance at her intoxicated daughter.

Lilac's recent behaviour had been a cause for concern for Love, especially since their relocation to a new town. The challenges of being the new girl in school weighed heavily on Lilac, pushing her towards a group of popular girls who indulge in frequent partying and Lilacs increasing involvement in their late-night escapades.

Love couldn't help but worry about the repercussions of Lilac's newfound social circle and the toll it was taking on her daughter. The tension between the two was palpable in the confined space of the suv.

Lilac, adorned in a short black lace dress, exuded an air of vulnerability as the delicate fabric clung to her slender figure. The dress revealed glimpses of her olive toned skin, accentuating her ethereal beauty. To ward off the chilly night air, a soft white fuzzy blanket rested on her lap, providing a comforting shield for her bare legs.

Love let out a weary sigh, her hand extending towards the volume knob as she turned down the blaring music. "My dear, you must learn to take it easy," She pleaded, her voice filled with concern. "I understand that this transition has been tough on you, but there are healthier ways to cope. It pains me to witness you harm yourself like this, flower."

The young brunette let out an exaggerated sigh, "Oh, mother," her words slurred from the effects of her indulgence. "I assure you, I am perfectly fine. In fact, I feel absolutely incredible." Her voice carried a sense of euphoria, but Love couldn't help but notice the underlying fragility beneath her daughter's confident facade.

Love's voice trembled with a mix of concern and frustration as she spoke,"I'm sure you do darling, but don't forget to remember the promise you made me.." However before Love could delve deeper into her plea, a sudden interruption shattered the tranquillity of the moment. A bright pair of headlights abruptly invaded their field of vision casting an eerie glow that engulfed their surroundings.

In an instant, a deafening pop echoed through the air, plunging them into the abyss of darkness.

Tragically, on that very night, Love Walton passed away, leaving behind a profound void in Lilac's heart. The loss of Love not only shattered Lilac's world but also took away a part of her own being, forever altering her existence.
