Sweet sweet solitude

Alone I stand, in silent land,
Where echoes fade into the night.
No hand to hold, no warmth to enfold,

In this cavern of endless plight.
The whispers of the breeze, the rustling trees,
Mock my solitary state.

In the shadows, where love is no where to be found,
I mourn the bonds I cannot sate.
No laughter rings, no joy it brings,

To this heart weighed down by despair.
In solitude's embrace, I find no grace,
But endless emptiness to bear.

Each passing day, in shades of gray,
I wander through this desolate domain.
With every step, I can't escape,

The crushing weight of loneliness' reign.
Yet still I long, for a voice, a song,
To pierce the silence of my soul.

But in this solitude, I find no certitude,
That I'll ever find my way back whole.
