Caroline"Mom are we almost there?" My 12 year-old sister wined.
"We should be about there," My mom pulled up to a long ranch-style house at the corner of where two streets intersect.
Right as we parked, a blonde hair blue-eyed guy walks out of the house. Once I saw him, my heart started beating.
"Derek!" I jumped out of the car to hug the cute guy. I could hear my mom snickering behind us. It's been 2 years since I've seen him.
"Hi Derek," my mom greeted while walking past us into the house with my brother and sister. Derek said hi and then released me.
"How was the drive out?"
"Fine, I read most of the time,"
"That good. Do you need help unloading your car?"
"Nah, we got it," then I took the last two bags in the trunk inside the house.
Inside there was a small living room and the room straight ahead in the back was the kitchen with the dinning area to the right of there, and on the left of the kitchen was the narrow hallway where all the bedrooms are.
"Hello hello!" A short woman said with a big smile on her face. "Hi Caroline. How are you doing? Can I get you anything?"
"No Lisa, we're fine," it was my mom.
She had blonde hair, green eyes, and stood 5'6 and slim. I was almost an exact replica of her minus the height part. I was 5'3 while my sister was 5'2. Unlike me, my sister, Natalie had dark brown hair and blue eyes, just like my dad, and of course was tall for her age. Now my 9 year-old brother, Cody has dark brown hair and green eyes, a perfect mix of both my parents and was most likely gonna be tall when he's older."Are you sure Carrey?" Linda asked.
"Yes," my mom replied as they headed into the kitchen.
"So am I sleeping in Spencer's room?" I turn to Derek.
"Yeah, just like last time I'm pretty sure," he was about to say something else when his mom called him.
"Sorry, I'll be right back," then he jogged into the kitchen.
I headed down the small hallway to Spencer's room. These bags aren't the lightest in the world.
"Hey Spencer," I look up at the 13 year-old girl on the top level of her bunk bed with a globe in her hand.
"Hey,"
"What are you doing with the globe?"
"I'm trying to fix it since Derek decided to mess with it and break it to where it doesn't spin on it's stand now,"
"Oh well he probably broke off the thing that attaches the globe to its axis holder." She nodded her head and shook the globe.
"Yeah, I think that's what's probably rolling around in there when I move it,"
"Here, let me see it. I could probably get it out," she handed it to me as I reached for it. After a few tries, I gave up, so she just asked me for the glue on her desk.
"Here,"
"Thank you," she started gluing the bottom of the globe and handed it to me. It was almost on the desk when it fell...again.
"I almost got it! ugh!" We both laugh and then walk into the living room, joining our parents and siblings.
I took a seat next to Derek on the love seat and smiled at him. "Hey,"
"Hey again,"
"So, do you know what our parents' are talking about?"
"Not really," I laugh.
"So have you gotten your license yet?"
"Nope, I just got my permit in June,"
"So I'm guessing you haven't driven much?"
"Not really. I drove over one curb and almost ran over a lamppost," I laugh. "And that was in the parking lot," we
laugh. After a few hours of laughing, talking, and catching up, everyone head to bed.
"Goodnight," I say to Derek.
"Goodnight Caroline,"
