"You must except your destiny. Become who you are meant to be. The devil is always watching and he's coming after you." *Gasp* I woke up in a cold sweat, shaking in fear for the third night in a row.
I had thought my nightmares had gotten better but it looks like I was wrong. My therapist says that I have these nightmares because of grief over my father's death. He died 18 months ago and ever since then I have had these terrible nightmares.
Realisticly my therapist would be right but for some reason it feels like it's more then just grief. It feels evil, dangerous, and like someone is actively coming after me. I layed back down on the bed and sighed as I closed my eyes.
A minute later I heard a gentle knock on my door. "Come in," I said groggily. "Hey sweetie, it's time to get up for school," Dave said shyly. Dave is my stepfather and a really sweet guy.
At first my siblings and I viewed him as a viable threat but little by little we warmed up to him. "Okay, I'm getting up," I yawned with no intention of doing so. He nodded and closed my door as he left my room.
I have absolutely no energy these days and it's getting rather annoying. However, by some form of miracle, I made it to the bathroom without passing out.
I got ready, packed my bags, did my hair, and then promptly went downstairs for breakfast. "Good morning darling, how did you sleep? My mother asked cheerfully.
"I slept fine," I said forcing a smile on my face. My mom has been really worried about me since my nightmares started and I've been getting weaker so it's better to lie for her sake.
"You better come get some of this or else there will be nothing left," David warned me. David was my jock older brother who was currently stuffing his face full of pancakes.
My younger sister Rose was sitting next to him laughing. Which makes me the infamous middle child but unlike the stories I'm actually not ignored. Honestly I wish sometimes they would pay less attention to me.
I sat down at the kitchen counter and my mom placed a plate of food in front of me. I ate quietly lost in thoughts of what I dreamed about last night.
My therapist said that I should try to remember faces and environments in my dreams so we can try to find the root meaning of them.
What I saw last night was the devil and yet I can't help but think the reason why is a little more complex then "you have much stress in your life." I was snapped out of my thoughts by Rose tapping me on the shoulder, gently.
"Hey can you please take me to school?" Rose asked sweetly. "It's David's turn today isn't it?" my mom asked. "No it's not mom he already had his turn it's Haley's turn now," Rose said waving her hands frantically.
I knew she was lying but I decided I would play along anyway. "Yeah mom it is my turn I'll take her," I said picking up my bag.
My mom smiled and told us to have a good day. We got into the car and I started to drive. "So who's the guy?" I asked my interest piqued. "What do you mean?" Rose stared at me clueless.
"Look you and I both know that it was David's turn today and yet you lied to mom and said it was mine. Therefore the only logical answer is that when David drops you off you see a particular boy.
So again I digress, who is this mystery boy?" I smirk. "Okay fine, whenever David drops me off this guy in my class Kevin is getting dropped off and we run into each other.
He is really sweet and cute but I always do something stupid when I'm around him, especially that early in the morning." Rose sighed. "Ha called it," I said happily. "Hey, then again there is a much more important reason why I wanted to ride with you anyway!" Rose huffed.
