The rest of the school day was nothing short of crazy. After Nathaniel had dragged me out of the lunch room, he went on a rant about how he didn't like how those guys were looking at me.
He talked for so long that when he finished, it was already time for my next class. I don't know if someone is playing a sick joke on me or something, but how exactly do I have a class with every single one of those guys.
It's like wherever I go, I run into them. It was getting so bad to the point that I thought I might find them in the girls' bathroom. Not to mention, when I saw Anna and Jess again after the lunch incident, they would not let go of what happened.
They kept making remarks on how Nathaniel pulled me out of the room like a dog on a leash and that Alexander was flirting with me. Right now, the bell just rang, and I'm starting to seriously regret agreeing to stay back for football practice.
As I dragged my feet down the hallway, slowly making my way towards the field, I heard a chuckle from behind me. I turned around and saw that it was Gabriel, then quickly turned back around and continued to walk a little faster.
A few moments later, he appeared right next to me, and we continued walking side by side. "Excited to get to football practice, are we?" Gabriel smirked. There was something about this family because they were always smirking about something.
"Yeah, I'm super excited to go watch practice," I said rather sarcastically. "Let me guess what my brother said at lunch struck a nerve in your boyfriend," Gabriel concluded. "Very intuitive of you to guess that," I replied.
"Well, it was pretty obvious the way he came up with a lame excuse then dragged you out of the lunch room. I guess I can't really blame him. Guys do some crazy things in hopes of keeping a pretty girl," He winked.
He then picked up the pace a bit and started to walk ahead. "I'm going to go on ahead to the field. See you at practice, Haley," He said with a smile and a wave.
I might be hearing things, but did he just call me pretty? I smiled, I had just met them, but it was pretty obvious that Gabriel was the most competent and mature of them all. He also happens to be rather charming as well.
Although from the information I have gathered so far, they all have one sure thing in common, they are fine as hell. Five minutes later, I had made it to the field, and they were warming up.
I went and sat down on the bleachers. I was minding my own business when suddenly a football came out of nowhere and started flying towards me.
I was sure I was going to get hit smack in the face when suddenly a hand appeared in front of my face and caught the ball. "Whew, that was a close one, wasn't it," He said proudly.
I looked up to see that my savior just happened to be Alexander. "Thank you," I said slowly, still in a daze by what happened. "Well, I couldn't let that football damage one of your best features," Alexander stood there with a big stupid smile on his face.
"This also gives me a great excuse to come talk to you without looking like I'm slacking off. Overall, when you think about it, a football almost hitting you in the face is like a blessing in disguise," Alexander joked while tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
He waved goodbye and ran down the bleachers to go continue practicing. I felt immense energy in my body when he got close to me like that, but I decided to ignore it and continue watching practice.
I can see why Nathan wanted the guys to join the team. They were good. The coach looked awestruck by what he was witnessing on the field. From what I could tell, they had it all. Strong, fast, and an amazing throw with both arms.
