“i take erik to california with me while you stay here with lyle till he graduate high school” said jose.
“No way jose, i wanna come to california too, lyle is big enough to take care of himself here” kitty decline the idea.
“Okay, whatever suits you kitty” jose gave up.
Erik heard his parents conversation, he was devastated, he felt like the world collapse in front of him.

Today is your day off from swimming but it’s erik’s tennis lesson, you decided to ride bike to bedens brook club, you quickly head to the tennis court behind, you saw erik sat on court floor, right next to the net fence, his head down between his legs inside crossed arms. You walk towards him and just sit next to him.
“hey” you caress his back.
He look up and you saw his red eyes, “hi” his voice cracked.
You worried to see him like that, “Are you okay?”
He shook his head and put his arms around your waist, burried his face on your shoulder.
“erik, do you wanna talk?”
He shook his head and kept hugging you instead.
“please dont call me erik, just call me hurt man”
“Hurt man? Why you say that?”
“Because i got hurt a lot, its okay to hurt me, i get used to it”
“What are you talking about? I would never hurt you erik”
He just look down.
“who hurts you? How they hurt you? And why? Tell me please”
He shook his head.
“your friends at school? Your family? Who?”
“nevermind, forget it okay?”
“Now you already said that, i cant get it out of my mind”
“i’m sorry to drag you into this, please forget it, i dont want to make you worry”
“erik i promise”
“promise what?”
“i promise i’ll make you forgot all those sad things till you could called yourself a happy man”
“Thank you magno” he hugged you tightly.

Days passed, you haven't seen erik at all in the club, then one day you saw lyle in the tennis court, he waves at you, he told you that erik gonna move to california for good. You felt so betrayed, he just said that he love you but now he wanted to leave. You decided not to wait nor expecting to see him again.
At the same time, erik slowly pull him self away from you, he just dont wanna build stronger connection with you otherwise it will be harder to leave, but at one point it killing him inside so he decided to see you and waiting for you outside the school gate, you avoiding him by walking on the other sidewalk but he spot you crossing the road and follow you, you feel his presence so you speed up your pace, when you feel that he kept cacthing your pace you run, he then run too. After a small run you lost your breath and stops under the tree on the side of the road.
"Magnolia smith, stop running away from me, please.."
You then stop suddenly, turn around and just facing him, you knew the truth but don't wanna tell him yet.
“magno, i'm so sorry, lately i was so busy practicing for the tournament”
“that's alright erik”
“i- i practice at home, my dad hire a private coach for me and my brother..”
"You really don't need to find excuses, i already heard it from lyle"
"You did? Then listen from my perspective, i could explain"
"Well, go ahead"
"What you heard from lyle is true, you have absolut right to be mad at me. My dad got a job in california, he wants us all to move with him there, i've begged my mom to stay here with lyle but she didn't let me, you don't know how much i want to stay here, i don't wanna leave you magno, you are the best thing that ever happen to me.. please believe me" he start sobbing.
Watching him like this hurts you terribly, you slowly going closer, embrace him and kiss his cold lips so deep, you gave the warmth back on him as you wiped his tears away, “you’ve mention that you called your self a hurt man, well now you're the one whose hurting, what you did is just hurt me real bad” You pull back, take out the necklace that he gave to you and put it on his right palm, "thank you for everything, i will never forget you erik" then you walk away without looking back again, wiping your own tears.
The minute you left, you took away his soul with you, he just stood still and could only watch you fade.

The next morning at your house,
“magno, erik was here”
“Where is he now mama?”
“he left already, he said he had morning flight to catch, he move to california with his family. Did he tell you?”
You just nodded.
“he gave you this” your mom gave you a red envelope.
“thank you mama” you run to your room, shut the door, and toss the school bag on the floor, you quickly sit down on the edge of the bed, open the envelope and read the letter carefully.
Dear my sweet magno,
I’m really sorry for hurting your feeling the last time we met, trust me it hurts me even more. My family and i move to california tomorrow and i just couldn’t say goodbye to you so i wrote this letter instead.
Thank you for coming into my life, no words could describe how much you meant to me, you’re my whole world, you’ve brought light into my dark sad life. I’m gonna miss you terribly and i love you forever magno, take care.
