The first step is to realize what you're doing. To yourself and everyone around you.
How do you feel, when you think this way? How is it effecting the people around you?
Realizing you have a problem is proof that you're not too far gone.
There are different stages in depression. And each stage will be different for each person.
The First Stage is: Self-Pity
Which is what we'll be talking about this chapter.
The Second Stage is: Hatred of Self
Which is somewhat the opposite to Self-Pity.
Self-Pity is when you think the world owes you something. That the world isn't good enough for you.
Hatred of Self is when you feel like you aren't good enough for the world.
Sometimes, you'll feel like your going back and forth between the too.
For now, we'll focus on Self-Pity itself.
First of all, the feeling of 'Oh the world owes me something' isn't good to start with. Yes, the world is unfair. Yes, things don't always go the way you want it too, but that's life.
Things like this cannot be helped. And suicide is NOT the answer.
Suicide is running away from your problems. It's also a permanent "solution" to a temporary problem.
Life is all about the way you handle the challenges you face in life. All suicide would do, is take someone you care about and make them feel the way you did. And that isn't the goal is it? That's not a solution.
Self pity and suicide are tied in ways, cannot be thought possible. Thinking like that, is the start of something greater. And it's only the beginning, so stop it while you can.
To stop self-pity you need to understand. People stronger than you have died, and people weaker than you have lived. So, if they can you can too.
You still have so far to go, and you still haven't met your full potential. You can't give up on that. There are still things you need to do, and people you have to meet. If you do something drastic it could alter tons of could-be-happy lives.
Don't deprive that from yourself or the people around you. Because all that does is hurt.
Things get tough, and the world is cruel. But, there's a lighter side to it too. With enemies, there are friends. With no Wifi Connection, Video Games. All these awful things always have a good twist. We would never know the good, unless we see the bad.
