A roar wakes me from my sleep. I start to panic. I get out of bed and look discreetly out of the window. It's not my father's car but five guys'. I'm both relieved and annoyed because I can't sleep because of these guys.

My brother's still asleep, I'm not going to wake him. I put on a little sweater and go out. I don't know how many of them there are. I approach them.

- Ah, ah, ah! laughs one of them.

- I throw.

- Oh, look who's here.

- A nice chick we've got here.

I cross my arms.

- Hey, Caleb! We got company.

A guy dressed in a leather jacket and denim pants turns his head towards me.

- Hello, my pretty! I might know why you're here.

- Your car makes too much noise. You could take your business elsewhere.

Every guy in front of me is laughing at me.

- And why would I do that?

- You'll wake everyone up. Please leave.

I don't trust these guys. I'm going back to my room.

- Did you see the ass on her," exclaims a guy.

- I'd like to put her in my bed," adds the other.

I can hear them laughing behind me. How dare those pigs stare at me. The reserve manager was right, this really is the worst place to spend the night.

I lock myself in the bedroom because I don't trust them. Then I crawl into the sheets. I hear the engine roar again. It wakes my brother.

- Damn! Who the hell cares?

- Go back to sleep Raviere.

He covers his ears with the pillow. I think I'll do the same. I can't wait to get out of here.

I wake up quiet. Silence reigns, it's weird all of a sudden. Raviere wakes up a little after me.

- Did you have a good night? I ask her.

- The worst.

- You amaze me.

- Who were those people making the noise?

- Assholes. Let's get dressed and get out of here.

Which we do. We get out of the room and put our stuff in the car. I put the key in the ignition and start the engine, which does nothing. I try again, still nothing.

- Come on, start it.

No, not the breakdown. This isn't the time.
I try again. I press the handle to open the hood, then get out of the car. I approach the engine, but no smoke comes out. What's the problem?

- Anything wrong?

I turn my head and see him. The guy from yesterday with the leather jacket and jeans. I don't want him sticking his nose in my business.

- No, everything's fine.

- Then why are you sticking your nose in the engine? What's wrong with your car?

He's getting closer. Why does the damn car have to break down?

- Everything's fine, I said!

- Get behind the wheel and start it up. I'll take a look at it.

I don't want him to help me, but since I don't know anything about mechanics, I have no choice. I look him straight in the eye. I can't deny he's handsome, almost too handsome for me.

- Come on!

I'm going to get behind the wheel.

- Why don't we leave? Raviere asks me.

- Go ahead," says the guy.

I try to start it.

- Again, the guy says.

I do the same thing.

- Are we going or not? Raviere insists again.

- Two seconds Raviere!

I get out of the car.

- It's the starter. It's cooked.

- Damn it! I swear as I get back in the car.

- So! Are we leaving or not?!

- No, we can't leave because the car broke down. The starter's shot! I've got to find a garage.

The guy approaches the door.

- It's going to be hard to find a garage here. If you want, I can fix it for you. I know a guy who sells car parts, so all I have to do is make a phone call and I can get the part.

I gasp.

- Are you a mechanic?

- No, but I've got a basic understanding of mechanics.

- Great, we'll have the car repaired by an amateur," exclaims Raviere.

- You've got a better option than that, Raviere.

I'm not getting an answer from him.

- How long will all this take? I ask the guy.

- The time it takes to get the part, I'd say three days. In three days, the car will be ready to go.

- I see.

- Then it's a deal! I'll call my buddy.

He steps away from the car. We both get out of the car. Raviere is getting hungry and so am I. We go to the convenience store to get something to eat. We go to the mini-market to buy some food. While Raviere is choosing the items, two guys block our way. I recognize these men. They were with the guy fixing the car.
