1) Type: K-Drama
2) My reason for choosing this Drama: It was during my summer break when I was staying at my grandparents' house in Dehli when I was scrolling through Netflix, trying to find a new Drama to watch. Then suddenly, Weightlifting Fairy caught my eye. I read the blurb, and immediately knew that I had to watch it. I had never heard of this drama before, which made it even more interesting for me. I could go back home and tell my friend -who always used to talk about the Dramas that she watched- all about it.

7) Character Studies:
i) Kim Bok-Joo-
She's the extroverted female-lead, who stands up for her friends and isn't afraid to do to her best. She's a tomboy, and doesn't know anything about fashion, make-up, etc. She is passionate about weightlifting, and has a lot of willpower to keep going further. She goes through the emotions about having a first-love and dealing with rejection, which later ends up as a good thing, because it helps her understand who she really wants. She lost her mom at an early age, and is very close to her father who owns a chicken restaurant.
ii) Jung Jun-Hyung-
He's a charming male-lead who makes you feel happy, and spreads a positive vibe. You can't help but like him. He always wants to help people, and is a very caring person. He is determined to befriend Bok-Joo, who acts like she doesn't want anything to do with him because he nicknames her, "Chubs". Jun-Hyung keeps a lot of things to himself, especially his emotions about being left behind by his mother who hasn't contacted him in years. He has an outgoing personality, and wants to be a professional swimmer.
iii) Song Shi-Ho-
She's a gymnast who is suffering from many family problems, and also bulimia. Jun-Hyung is her ex boyfriend, and she's very jealous of Bok-Joo, who is also her roommate. She's a kind person if she likes you, but is rude and stone-hearted if she's angry- she exposes Bok-Joo. She is struggling to fit in, when everyone in her class makes fun of her, and they also get envious at times when she does great.
8) Plot: It begins with Bok-Joo reuniting with Jun-Hyung after more than a decade, at University. Their friendship builds, and Bok-Joo falls for Jun-Hyung's elder brother. When Jun-Hyung finds out, he doesn't know how to react. Jun-Hyung realises that he likes Bok-Joo, while she gets rejected by his brother, and has a hard time dealing with it. She even tries to quit weightlifting, as she feels useless. Jun-Hyung helps her find herself again, and Bok-Joo accomplishes her dream. I instantly fell for Nam-Joo-Hyuk in this, and god did I love their ship. When the two become closer, Shi-ho becomes super jealous, and finds herself burdened by the threat of bulimia, which makes her very weak, and she even takes sleeping pills. I love the twists and turns, and how the two leads are woven together. People who love a good cute romance should definitely watch this.
(no more spoilers!)
