"Please remember to submit your individual assignment by next week, that's all for today's class." I returned to attending classes regularly and regained the motivation I had lost in the aftermath of the dramatic incident. I wanted and needed to do well in my studies.
"So... what's the deal with you and Taehyung? I heard you two left the club together that night," Yoona asked, raising her eyebrows as she took a bite of her waffle. We were at our usual cafe in school, taking a break between classes. "Trust me, nothing happened," I replied firmly. I didn't want her to get the wrong idea about me and Taehyung, even though I could see why she might assume something was going on.
"How do you feel about the whole Tae-YANG situation?" She giggled, "Sorry, I just had to emphasise the 'Yang'." I couldn't help but burst out laughing too. It was a relief to be able to laugh about it now, especially considering how I felt in the days following. He knew I had seen that picture but didn't even bother to reach out to me. Although I can see that we've broken up and he has every right to move on, I can't help but feel a sense of betrayal knowing that was his hidden motive all along.
"Hey guys!" A familiar voice chimed in from behind me. I turned around to find Jungkook standing there. "Wait, you study here too?" I asked, feeling puzzled. I hadn't noticed him around campus before. "That's because he never attends his lectures. He's got his future all mapped out anyway," Yoona explained, greeting him with a hug.
"Wait, what do you mean?" I inquired, feeling a twinge of envy.
"I'm studying law, but my dad runs a law firm, so technically, I won't need to worry about finding a job after graduation," Jungkook smirked, earning a playful hit on the shoulder from Yoona. "Nice try at staying humble," she muttered under her breath.
"So, are you all filthy rich or something? Yoona's chauffeur drives a Lamborghini to school everyday to pick her up, and you don't even have to attend classes because you're a nepo baby?" They chuckled while shaking their heads, attempting to maintain a humble facade.
"If you think we're filthy rich, wait till you see where Taehyung lives." Jungkook said.
"What do you mean... I literally went to his apartment that night which I initially thought the entire building was abandoned. How could someone even live there?" I was so confused, at this point I stopped eating.
"So it's true! You two did leave the club together!" Jungkook exclaimed. "Why didn't he just bring you to the rooftop though... His apartment is hella nasty." I rolled my eyes. Thanks, he totally avoided my question, leaving me more confused than ever.
