After that weird experience I finally do what I was told and go to the Hermes cabin. As I walk there, I was enthralled by the strange things around me. Satyrs playing basketball, naiads rowing canoes and nymphs planting seeds. I finally get to the cabin and it looks old. Like, really old. Chipping paint and woody smells make it feel like and average summer camp cabin. But this was no average summer camp. The door creaks open and standing inside is a girl about my age with mid length bubblegum pink hair, freckles, and wearing a highlighter yellow hoodie.

"Hey, you must be the new kid! My name's Skyler, what's yours?", the girl asked, sticking her hand out for a hand shake.

"Carson." I reply. "Carson Anderson." I shake her hand.

"Come on," she says. "I'll give you the full tour."

I follow her out as she explains things about the camp. She says every cabin is for the different greek gods and some kids of the gods live in them, but mostly this place is for training the young demigods. Mostly only very powerful children of the gods live here full time. The Artemis and Hera cabins don't have any people in them. She showed me the woods where sometimes there are games like capture the flag.

"So, until you're claimed you'll be in the Hermes cabin." Skyler says.

"Claimed? By what?" I ask.

"Your godly parent will send a sign to say that you are theirs."

"When does that usually happen?"

"When you're around 13 or so."

"Oh, ok." I say.

"So that's the end of the tour. Connor, the cabin counsellor, isn't here right now, so here's your schedule. Dinner's at 7. See you later!" says Sklyer.

"Ok," I reply. "Bye"

She runs of in some direction while I find my way back to River. I untie him and we walk to the Hermes cabin together. I reach there and it's surprisingly full. 20 something kids all ranging from 9 to 16 crammed into this tiny cabin. There were some bunk beds but they were all full. Sleeping bags were strewn all over the floor. I found a small corner and placed my bag down. I looked around at all the people around me. So many of them had come over to pet River and he was loving the attention. Most of them looked similar, like they were siblings. Then I realised that were probably siblings. After all the new and exciting and things I experienced today, my brain was just too tired, so I just fell asleep. Right there on the floor, River next to me.

Later, must've been an hour or something, I'm wake up. All around me people are getting up and a taller guy, probably the counsellor, was getting everyone in line, oldest to youngest. I was right in front of Skyler. It was dinnertime already. I told River to stay in the cabin while we went to eat. After everyone was gathered we all walked to the pavilion. We all piled onto the picnic tables, but there were so many of us. It was very crammed and half my butt was hanging off of the seat. The food was tasty, smoked brisket and salad. I learned that the goblets that were given are magical, and you could ask any drink you wanted and it would appear. I just wanted water.

After dinner is the sing-along, and this is where I really shine. I whip out my ukulele and start playing right along the Apollo cabin. They seem surprised at first but then they understand that I'm a skilled player. Everyone was singing along and having fun. As the night went on I feel more comfortable in this strange new place.
