Chapter 3

"So, what's our test?" Naruto asks Alastor, who had led him and Fuu to a different part of the training ground from where the rest of the team was being tested.

"Tell me, Naruto, Fuu, what are the 2 things all 3 of us have in common?" Alastor asks turning to them.

"We can fly?"

"And we fight manly using magic/jutsu?"

"You are both correct." Alastor says before flapping his wings and flying high in the sky, prompting Naruto and Fuu to follow him. "So your test will be determining how capable you are when fighting in the sky without using anything but your own bodies and weapons. Neither of you is permitted to use any ninjutsu or genjutsu, and you, Naruto, are not permitted to use magic. If either of you breaks this rule, you both fail. You win by forcing me to the ground, and to make it fair I will also fight purely physically." Alastor explains, before him and Naruto summon their staffs and Fuu pulls out a pair of Kunai. "The test starts now."

Instantly, Naruto blocks a strike from his father, their staffs clashing with a loud clang, and is sent flying towards the ground, though he manages to catch himself before he can hit it. He then flaps his wings and soars at Alastor, hoping to land a sneak attack as he attempts to strike Fuu, who is using her small size to her advantage, swiftly dodging around Alastor's attacks and looking for an opening.

Now, despite Alastor being over a hundred years old, he is actually the least skilled out of the 3 when it comes to physical combat, as he has no training in it and has never once had to rely on it while in hell, his magic being more than enough in every fight he has been in. Despite this, though, his physical strength and speed, even in his most human-looking form, is overwhelmingly superior to Naruto's and Fuu's, which more than makes up for his relative lack of skill in his particular form of combat. This is to say, Naruto's sneak attack fails, and he is struck in the side with a blindingly fast roundhouse kick, sending him flying once again.

Despite Naruto's attack failing, Fuu finds an opening when Alastor turns to deal with him, and stabs one of her kunai into his right wing, causing pain and rage to become visible in Alastor's eyes. In an instant, Fuu finds one of her own wings severed by her own kunai, and begins falling to the ground, which she counters by summoning a new one. Her wings are just chakra constructs, after all, she can afford to replace a few.

In Alastor's rage, he fails to Notice Naruto recovering from his kick and appearing behind him, staff held high. Naruto then slams his staff into Alastor's shoulder, sending him hurtling toward the ground... for about 2 seconds before Alastor recovers and retaliates by doing the exact same thing to Naruto.

By this point, the rest of team seven has spotted the 3 flying combatants and paused their test to watch them.

"Either Naruto and Fuu are stronger than I thought, or the opposite is true of Alastor-sensei." Yakumo says. "Because there's no way that they should be able to keep up with him this well."

"In case you have forgotten, Yakumo, Alastor himself has admitted that he has no formal training in close-quarters combat, and is a specialist in mid-long range combat. Naruto and Fuu, on the other hand, do have training in it. It's more surprising that he's able to so easily handle them both at the same time, one would think that he'd be struggling more, especially considering the kunai he took to his wing." Kakashi says in response.

"Since when does she have wings?" Sasuke asks, pointing at Fuu, who has just lightly grazed Alastor with a kunai. "She mentioned that she can fly back in the academy, but I thought that was through the use of some secret jutsu."

"They're obviously chakra constructs, Sasuke-kun." Sakura says with a sigh. "Notice how she keeps getting them severed and regrowing them?"

Sasuke narrows his eyes, focusing on Fuu as it happens once again. "You're right. I'll have to get her to teach me how to do that some day, wings will be quite useful when I finally fight Itachi."

"Just don't bother her too much about it, and take no for an answer if she refuses." Kakashi says, causing Sasuke to scoff.

"I'm not some brainless fool who cannot comprehend the existence of secret techniques. The Uchiha clan has several of those, even ones that are not related to the sharingan."

"Had, Sasuke. If a clan is reduced to less than 5 people it is considered extinct until it rebuilds its numbers. As long as both you and Itachi remain childless there is no Uchiha clan." Kakashi says, correcting him.

"No, HAS. The secret techniques remain secret, and I have access to them, therefore I, and the future Uchiha clan, have secret techniques." Sasuke says, angered.

Kakashi just shrugs. "Whatever you say, Sasuke."

Sasuke crosses his arms and focuses back on Naruto, Fuu, and Alastor's fight.
