Chapter 2: The Others

         Jax has Pomni by the hand, pulling her with him as he runs. "Come on! Hurry!" Jax says and looks back at the abstraction with wide eyes. The abstraction is getting closer, so Jax grabs Pomni and tosses her aside, as the abstracted tries to crush them. "Jax!" Pomni calls out.

Jax grabs his bat and swings it at the abstracted, stunning it for only a few seconds, giving Jax barely any time to go and hide. Jax hides behind a old and scratched up color block g ft or the circus. The abstracted looks around and leaves the area. "That was close... you okay, Pomni?" Jax asks.

Pomni nods and cautiously walks towards Jax. "Was that an abstracted?" Pomni asks. Jax nods, and looks around for more. "There's hundreds of them..." Jax claims. Pomni looks at Jax, a nervous expression on her face. "So... um... Jax. What was this place like... before... all this...?" Pomni asked, her curiosity grows.

       Jax looks at Pomni. "It was this eccentric, very colorful and insane place. Caine gave us adventures everyday... I don't really know what the point of anything was... but me personally, I'd rather have that torture back than to suffer from what it has become." Jax explains. Jax walks across the field of the Grounds, the grass is brown and dead, and the trees are bare of leaves.

        "We should be close to where the others are..." Jax says as he walks towards the dead forest of the Grounds. Pomni looks around, kinda spooked by all the dead trees. Jax slowly walks through the forest, and walks towards a small area with a few tents, a dirty pillow fort, and a fireplace in the center. Pomni looks at a doll that is cooking something, and she looks at Jax.

        "Jax! You're back! Oh... and who's this you brought with you?" She says. "Hey, Ragatha... this is Pomni... she's.... New." Jax says. Ragatha frowns and gives a expression of sadness. "People are still getting trapped here..." Ragatha says with a whisper. "Where is Kinger?" Jax asks. "He's in his pillow fort... you know he's scared of going outside..." Ragatha replies.

         "I got those spare buttons for you..." Jax walks towards Ragatha and drops the bag in her hands. "Thanks, Jax... I didn't think you would actually get them." Ragatha replied. Jax steps away and turns towards Kinger's pillow fort. "Hey, Kinger! Come on out and eat with us... hey, Ragatha, what are you cooking?" Jax asked. "Some chicken from Bubble's old freezer... speaking of food... we're almost out." Ragatha says.

        Kinger pokes his head out of the pillow fort. "Did I hear someone say my name?" Jax looks at Kinger. "Yeah... food is almost done... come out here and sit with us." Jax says, his hand on his hip. Kinger crawls out of his pillow fort and slowly walks to sit on a log, waiting. Pomni notices Kinger is shaking aggressively. "Is he okay?" Pomni asks. "Nope... I'm honestly surprised he's still here." Jax replies.

          "Okay! Food is ready!" Ragatha calls out as she lays the chicken on a tray, setting it on the stump of a tree, it was so wide it was like a table. Pomni slowly sat down and stared at the chicken.  Jax looked up from his food and looks at Pomni. "Pomni... you alright?" Jax asks. "Yeah... I'm just... thinking." Pomni replies.

        Jax takes a bite of a chicken leg, Pomni notices his sharp teeth, but doesn't say anything. Jax finishes eating and stands up, walking into a tent. "Hey... Ragatha... can you tell me why Kinger is so... you know? Also... what's up with Jax?" Pomni asked. Ragatha smiles. "Well, Kinger has been like this for a while... since Queenie... and now all this... he's just scared and lost... it's expected... and you know, Jax wasn't always this nice to people..."

       Pomni looks in curiosity. "Oh? Then what was he like?" Ragatha looks at the tent Jax went it. "He was a menacing prankster.... Egotistical and rude... he usually would bully everyone and harass them." Ragatha explained. "What about you?" Pomni asked. "Me? Oh... personally, I felt like I was the mother of everyone... I tried to get everyone to believe everything was okay."

         Pomni thinks more. "Jax mentioned there used to be others..." Ragatha rubs her head nervously. "Yeah... there was Kaufmo... he technically caused this... thing to happen. Then there was Gangle, and she was sensitive and sweet... she got infected and... well... yeah." Ragatha explained. "Then there was Zooble... they were a bunch of objects and part that connected together... they were both rude and nice... mostly annoyed... they also got infected." Ragatha continued.

             "You say they are infected... but where are they...?" Pomni asks. "Somewhere..." Ragatha replies.
