tw: mention of suicide

-﹒⪩⪨﹒-

"hey kid, come here let me tell you a story, hm?" the older looked at the child with a questioning look waiting for an answer

"yes, please tell me a story"

"okay i'll tell you one, but it's a bit sad okay?"

"uhm...okii!"

"great...so when i was younger i knew a boy and a boy, they went to my school and were my age. they were really good friends and neighbours as well

but unfortunately the people were very mean to them and every day they told them mean things.

and you know, even when you try really really hard, at some point you believe what the people say to you.

and the boys tried really really long and hard but they just couldn't love themselves anymore.

and the people, you know what they did? they just kept on getting meaner and meaner and even meaner.

and the boys started disliking themselves even more, you know, you could say they started hating themselves.

they never told anyone and just let everything happen, everyone else was just watching and ignoring.

i have to admit, i also just watched but i listened to the boys and i gave them a shoulder to lean on.

and well, after many years of people being very mean to them they decided to leave and go to a better place.

so they left even though they were just sixteen.

but we put their headstone on the shared lawn behind their houses so we wouldn't forget them, you know.

and the moral of the story is that you should never let people's words get to your mind and never believe people when they are saying mean things, just stand your ground"

the young boy looked up to the older, question marks written all over his face.

"what's on your mind, hm?"

"what were the names of the two boys?" the child curiously asked.

"Minho and Hyunjin"

"but...why would you tell such a story about uncle Minnie and uncle Jinnie? i thought they went to heaven?" looking up with innocent eyes making the older's eyes almost well up with tears

"well you see, they did. heaven is a much better place than where we grew up and no one is mean there."

the small boy didn't know how to respond to that and just nodded, before looking back at the older male with pleading eyes.

"what is it?" the other asked

"can you tell me another story? pleaseee!!"

not being able to resist those puppy eyes the elder nodded

"of course"
