"can you tell me another story? pleaseee!!"
not being able to resist those puppy eyes the elder nodded
"of course"
"yayy" the smaller one jumped on the lap of the elder.
"but again this story is a bit sad"
"it's okii i don't mind" the kid beamed wanting to hear more stories.
"okay, so when i was younger i knew a boy and a boy. they lived right opposite my house next to each other when i was in high school.
the boys were the bestest friends ever, like really i've never seen a friendship like that.
they were best friends since kindergarten and they've been doing anything and everything with each other since then.
the best is their birthdays were just one day apart and every year i could see them celebrating together.
you'd really think that nothing could separate them, they were like soulmates, you could say one soul.
they really belonged to each other but fate planned their futures apart from each other.
the only thing was they loved each other, they had feelings for each other.
you may think that that's great, but they never told the other, they kept it a secret.
even though everyone could see how they were looking at each other with hearts in their eyes.
they never told because they were too afraid of what they'd say even though it could've been so easy they never told.
after years of loving each other both had to go to college and moved away from each other.
they were still texting but it was... different.
it went on forever them even stopping texting until one decided to take the lead.
he drove all the way to the other end of the country just so they could talk...maybe finally confess.
and so they did, they confessed.
now they're still together even after so many years.
the moral of the story is to always shoot your shot, you have only one life and you should enjoy it and if it means to do something risky then risk it."
the little boy looked up question marks all over his face once again, this time not waiting for the other to ask what he wants to know.
"are you talking about uncle Ji and uncle Lixie?"
the older chuckled, nodding once.
"yes, yes i am talking about them."
"woah i didn't know that's their story, but why didn't they just tell? what we're they so afraid of?"
"you see when you are in your teenage year your mind often is a mess and you get overwhelmed and confused and just do things you might regret or you get scared for no reason, the important thing is to overcome that fear which, uncle Lixie, did by driving all the way to uncle Ji and confess"
the younger looked confused once more "i didn't think uncle Ji would be scared of something so simple, he always acts like he's fearless"
the older smiled wide, trying really hard not to laugh out loud.
"oh you know uncle Ji is actually scared of a lot"
"really?" the younger asked, earning a nod.
"but that's something for later, wanna hear one last story?"
the children's eyes started to shine once more
"tell me, pleaseee!!"
"sure"
