Chapter 2 Good Grumpy Morning 1/2

 These days Elpida waited for her mother to wake her up.She could claim the room for herself and sleep in the big bed as much as she wanted because it was the 7th year. Even on the rare occasions when she woke up on her own, she would still stay in bed waiting for someone to 'wake' her.

While she waited she would do anything but get up on her own. She would watch the cat clock, check the network on her NeuSkin wristband or lay there thinking about the day, the things she wanted to do and the things she had to do. Her mother, somewhat understanding of people who were not morning people, aways strived to wake her family up nicely. Although sometimes, like on busy days, she violently ( here sisters words) woke her family members up. Lavender was the only morning person in the house, making it her duty make sure everyone else got up on time. This year she was really on her own because their Irojin house hold family member Laila was on sabbatical. While she was extra busy this year she like the independence she felt.

Add to the morning mix a new baby and Lavadaer's morning were do or die. Her husband bless his heart was extra busily this year and often out of town, and when he wasn't out of town, he was of little help in the mornings.

Regardless, Elpida always woke up in the same manner. Quietly, Slowly and taking enormous amounts of time to become lucid. Though she had trouble starting the day once she became awake she stayed that way. She never dozed off or felt sleepy during the day, and rarely did she even take a nap after lunch as was the custom. Among all her friends she and a boy name Drake were said to have the worst sleeping habits around. Her friend Drake hated to get up and often became sleepy and needed a long nap after lunch. It wasn't seldom that he would even fall asleep in his lessons. Sometimes she would even play pranks on him of he fell sleep in class.

She had very little lesson work and responsibilities to do this week, but she was still busy. She had things to do around the land and many personal projects and had numerous meetings for the Robot Puppets Theater Club. She could rely on her Mamoru-Bot for much help, owning to the Jubilee Protocol that didn't allow for many helper bots to help their households.

It was Elpida's duty, on her easy lesson days, to help her sisters and the workers, the Ironin, to attend the 100 aches of land and Animals.

700 aches was shared, managed and worked on among 24 families. These 24 familes where called a House. A House usually was comprised of 12 -24 familes of Stewards and Ironin. Elpida was a member of 1 of 6 families, called the stewards. They had certain rights to capital, administrative responsible, legal duties and handle much of the importing and exporting among outside nations. The other 18 Ironin families extensively worked and managed the production of the food on the land and one or more specific industries or trades like textiles or the proccesing of raw materials. They also engaged in buying and selling, managing profits and lost and facilitating trade between other House.

The Nation Island of Aieshin was prone to very harsh natural weather conditions, so these 18 families and families like them all over Aieshin where the back bone of the nation in times of disaster. Overseeing the redistribution of agricultural resources that ravaged particular regions of Aieshin with floods, earthquake, tsunami or the like.

These Ironin made up 20-37 present of the population of Aieshin. Their main roll was in cultivating the land for agucultural use and husbandry of animals for soil production and food. Many also worked exclusively as builders. The all had shares and rights to live and work on certain areas of the land based on contracts and family ties. About a 1/3 of the Ironin where nomadic. Aieshin had complicated boundaries that change every 70 years. The Ironon who where nomadic would move around with their families and livestock. Using clean energy transports and vehicles to infuse the land with essential life and help society to function smoothly.
