Sunday arrives soon for Josie and she puts on a cute flower dress, something casual for the meeting between her girlfriend and father. Making her way to the location, she noticed something she thinks would appease her girlfriend so she gets it before continuing her way to the location. Once arriving, Josie exits the car and thanked her driver before making her to the back of the small restaurant. She spots her father standing by the railing looking at the ocean while her girlfriend is seated.
"I'm here." Josie announces catching both of their attention.
"Josie, I'm glad you're in one piece." Alaric tells her as he wrap an arm around her and Josie giggles.
"Dad, this is my girlfriend Penelope." She ushered to the girl watching the two cautiously.
"Hm..It's nice to meet you Penelope." Alaric held out his hand and Penelope wipes them then shook them, him not surprised by the light handshake he received.
"You as well Mr. Saltzman." Penelope finally spoke and Josie smiled widely.
Once their hands separated, Josie pecks Penelope cheek and went to sit down.
"Well let's order then we shall converse." Alaric pulls out Josie's seat then sat in his own after receiving a small thank you from his daughter.
Once the waiter saw that they were seated and looking through the menu, she went up to the table.
"I'm Maya and I'll be your cater." The woman spoke.
"A cater?" Penelope rose an eyebrow.
"A personal waiter." Maya explained simply.
"A bit fancy don't you think?" Penelope asked Josie.
"It is but this is a special occasion." Josie whispered but Alaric heard.
"It is?" He wondered.
"Tell him." Josie ushered, interlocking her and Penelope's hands.
"Oh um...I asked Josie to be my fiancée and she said yes." Penelope reveals and they couldn't tell but the color in Alaric's face immediately dissipates.
"I see." He clears his throat, then requested for water to which Maya gives him a nod and left the three.
"Seeing how you'll be walking me down the aisle, I thought it would be best to tell you first." Josie smiled sweetly and Alaric lets out a soft sigh.
"How long?" He questions.
"How long what?" Josie wondered.
"Have you two been seeing each other?" He asks.
"3 years, but I love her Dad, I do." Josie tells him wholeheartedly and he only sighs lowly then ran a hand through his hair as if a strand has fallen out of place.
"I see." Alaric mutters.
"Please say something?" Josie pleaded.
"Congratulations pumpkin." Alaric tells her, giving her a small hug and Josie completely melts in it.
"Thanks Dad, I cannot wait to tell everyone else." She squeals after pulling away from the hug.
"Do you two have a planner?" He asks after receiving his water from Maya.
"I'll be planning it." Penelope reveals and him and even Maya make the same face.
"Uh huh, okay." He sipped his water slowly.
"Something wrong?" Penelope questioned defensively, she always had a trust problem and she would always trust herself more than anyone else anyday.
"Nothing at all, my daughter's happiness will forever be my top priority, even if that is with the wrong person." He mumbled the last part but they didn't hear it.
"See, told you everything would be fine." Josie turns to her fiancé.
"Yeah I know." Penelope playfully rolled her eyes and they both hear a phone ringing.
"Hm, it's your mother." Alaric pulled the phone out of his pocket.
"Which one?" Josie asked, sipping her drink she had discreetly ordered after Alaric ordered his.
"Haha, very funny. But the blonde one." Alaric answered and after a minute long conversation, he stands up. "She wants to discuss something." He pulled out a Benjamin and gave it to Josie to pay for the expenses.
"She couldn't have waited?" Josie pouts.
"I guess not. I'll talk to you later and it was nice meeting you Penelope." Alaric kisses the top of Josie's head then nodded to Penelope then laugh.
Josie turned to her fiancé and grabbed her hands.
"He respects you." She reveals.
"That's good, because I'm going to be marrying you and will be his in-law." Penelope sighs and Josie only giggles.
They order food then ate and talked before going their separate ways since Josie still lives with her parents technically. When Josie walks through the door, she is met with Hope who wore a deep silky black v neck with a matching silky black pants and black dress shoes with silver jewelry.
"Looking good Saltzman." Hope complimented before continuing on to where she was headed and Josie followed, confused by the girl's presence.
"Why are you here?" She asked and Hope gestured to their parents. "Why are they here?" Josie refocused her question.
"I have a better question for you. You're getting married?" Hope rose an eyebrow.
"Ugh, my dad can never keep his mouth shut." Josie muttered but Hope heard her loud and clear then laughed.
"You're wearing a ring on your left finger." She points out, saving Alaric from the ear full even though he did reveal the small but rather large detail.
"Oh...then yes." Josie fidgeted with the ring as a smile replaces her lips.
"Congrats." Hope says clamping her hands together.
"Thank you." Josie gave her a bright smile and Hope nods.
"I have work to get to but I'll try talk later." She says before nodding again and leaving the taller girl's side as Josie waltz into the room where her and Hope parents are.
"Josie." Caroline noticed first.
"You look beautiful dear." Hayley nods.
"Thank you." Josie gave the woman a small smile.
"So you are engaged?" Klaus asked, looking at the ring.
"Yes." Josie nods.
"Mhm, when will we meet her?" Caroline wondered.
"Dad already met her." Josie rose an eyebrow.
"I know that, but we haven't." Caroline clarified.
"Why would they need to meet my fiancé, no offense?" Josie questioned.
"It's fine if you don't want us to, will Hope be?" Klaus asks.
"Well Hope will likely be one of my maid of honors so yes." Josie reveals and Klaus and Hayley share a look.
"We'll touchback on this another time, we need to talk about the problem." Alaric turned back to older adults.
"You already know what I'm going to say." Klaus says as Josie leaves since it is clearly not her business.
"No!" Hayley and Caroline scolds.
"Fine fine." He huffed while Alaric chuckles.
