There was once a mighty and noble woman- her name was Mikazuki, born in the Sengoku era.

With her beauty above all, her generosity compared to none, and her heart seen as the largest in all of Japan, she had gained many rivals in her quest to become rich. Not only in mortal flesh, but in spiritual contempt, she had many times longed to live in a kind world- an equal world...

While many grew to envy her, many also longed to follow her and spread her morals and her ideologies all around the world- in honour of the kindness that she had spread all across Japan in all her warmth.

Yet, no matter how many people tried, they could never reach her, and those who loathed her outspoken thoughts were only met by kindness that soon changed their hearts to allow such a simple concept of love to save them.

And, even through this, there was not a soul who loved her as she loved others.

In spite of her kindness, a man attacked her one night, pinning her down, he did unspeakable things to her, and even cursed her with pregnancy at her young age.

The woman, with her innocent heart, refused to lose the child, and gave birth to a healthy young boy. That, however, does not change the fact that he had to soon be taken to an orphanage to avoid scandal. She knew he would be far safer there than with her...

At this stage, she thought of herself as completely alone- unable to find any true love despite her own, and she soon grew saddened and lost.

However, by the legend, Mikazuki met a handsome man, one with hair as dark as the night, seeming like stars could one day glisten through his dark ebony, and his skin as pale as the snow that sat on the peaked mountains that reached to take a hold of the sky.

This man entranced her, her mind soon becoming lost in the thought of him and how he made her feel- exactly how she wished others felt when they thought of her-, but it felt more than that...

It felt like the love she so longed.

It hardly took long before she had admitted her own feelings to herself, and she went forward with this revelation. She wanted nothing more than to be with this man for the rest of her days, for she knew that in a world built by men, for men, this man would be a worthy husband for even the highest of monarchs.

He was kind, thoughtful, loving, sweet, gentle..

Everything she thought a man ought to be..

One night, as she confessed her love to him, under the gaze of the stars, the man took Mikazuki's hand and confessed his secret.

For, the man was a demon.

Gazing back into his own eyes, the woman smiled, taking his hand and speaking. She told him that her feelings for him had not changed, and her admiration had only grown, knowing he had to carry what he described as a heavy burden. For, in this creature, she didn't see violence or threat...but she saw the most human any person could be.

And, that night, the man took her hand in marriage, as any loving couple should.

After the duo had finally married, Mikazuki, finally thinking that she would live out a long and fulfilling life with the man she loved, had fallen disappointed.

The man was no sorrowful demon at all.

Instead, he was proud, arrogant, greedy, and most of all, powerful.

Every evening she would wake to the smell of blood in her home, and there was a point where she could no longer bear it. It was to the point she desired to run, to hide, to scream, and yet, if she did any of those, she knew she may fall to be his next victim.
