Draco wrapped his arms around Hermione's waist from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder. He wanted her to feel reassured, safe and most of all loved.
She appreciated the gesture, gripping his hands with affection.
They hadn't talked for some time, but didn't need words. They stood their watching the game from the lowest tier, their bodies pressed up against the rail.
The floodlights of the stadium illuminated the pitch which stretched for one hundred and twelve yards, the players zooming about on their brooms, weaving and darting, jostling for possession of the quaffle.
Their necks ached slightly from straining to look up at the players, a great sea of white red and blue, sometimes they appeared small specs in the distance.
But this didn't bother them. They were together.
'I never asked you'. Draco whispered in Hermione's ear. ' His breath tickled her earlobe. Who are you rooting for?
USA of course, she replied, angling her head towards him slightly.
'Me too' he said smiling. He squeezed her tighter against him and she welcomed the closer hold, rubbing her thumbs over his fingers.
The truth was, neither really cared about the score. The USA could lose terribly and it wouldn't matter. In that moment, they were the two happiest people - not just in the stadium, but in the entire world.
