Chapter 6

Babe needed two more days to be awake and truly aware...

He had forced Charlie to rest more, more times than not when Alan was the one staying with them for the night, He hated to be without his Charlie, but the boy looked dead on his feet, and Babe wasn't going to wait for him to collapse.

He had seen that happen once and was not willing to see it happen again... ever...

Over the two days, he had grown accustomed to waking up to one of his people in the room with him other than Charlie... but it was never Pete... or Way...

He thought they must be busy doing god knew what, that the aftermath of Tony being gone must be a huge mess to deal with.

But when he became more awake and aware the question was unavoidable...

"I want to know what happened...", He asked all of a sudden while Alan was in the room with him, Jeff had taken Charlie to grab something to eat... but something about Jeff told Babe that it was probably not the entire thing...

"I know you do... I would rather wait a few more days, you barely made it out of danger as it is..."

"P'Alan, What is going on?"

Alan sighed...

"Listen to me, Everyone is fine, I promise you... It's just..."

"It's just What?"

"It's Complicated..."

"Just tell me..."

Alan thought for a second...

"What would you like to know?"

"What happened that day, and after that? What is going on now? C'mon Long..."

Alan looked like he would rather do anything but answer that question...

"After Tony shot you... Kenta stabbed him..."

Babe's brows furrowed...

"He did?"

"He did, He wanted him to hurt no one anymore, He died on the spot actually..."

"And Kenta? Is He... is he ok?"

"He is a free man, Pete made sure of it, We all talked to the police after that, They tried to pin more than just Tony's death on him and Pete wasn't having any of it... He walks free... the case is already closed..."

"And? Why I am pulling the truth out of you like teeth?"

"Let's just say that... it hasn't been the easiest couple of days..."

"Why?"

"Well... Way... He..."

"He is what? Is he dead? Injured?"

"He is gone... He left a few days ago and We don't know where he is..."

Babe looked at Alan in disbelief...

"Why? Why would he do that?"

"He... He was angry at himself, seeing you in that state wasn't easy, and feeling like he had a hand in it wasn't helping, Pete was trying to keep an eye on him... but he vanished into thin air less than two days after you have been admitted to the hospital..."

"Didn't you talk to him?"

"I did... I told him that we are his family... but he is guilt-ridden... not only him though, Pete is taking it worse than you can imagine..."

"What do you mean?"

"Well... He led you all into Tony's house and it went out of hand, You almost died... Kenta was beaten bloody in the police station when they tried to get him to admit whatever had happened with Tony, Way was angry at Pete... It was a mess all around..."
