Doors opened and slammed while Lauren laid my head against the wall, bringing her knees even closer to her chest. Tears escaping from her eyes even though she was trying to hold them back as much as she could.

Feeling someone's pat her shoulder, her beautiful green eyes that were full of tears snapped open, looking up to find Luke's mother giving her a soft smile.

''You should go home, love. It's getting late.'' His mother whispered but Lauren shook her head immediately. She was not going to leave Luke.

''I'm fine.'' She lied, giving his mother a small smile in return.

As she closed her eyes again, what she heard on the radio kept playing in her mind all over again. ''An eighteen years old guy was found in the park, beaten and bleeding.''

''It turned out that the guy's name is Luke Hemmings and he has been sent to the hospital.''

Hearing foot steps coming out of Luke's room, she opened her eyes quickly and stood up. Her eyes were wide in worry and fear of what the doctor was going to say next.

''He stopped bleeding and the cuts have been cleaned. Only one of you can visit him now but please, don't spend long in there.'' The doctor spoke and Luke's mother immediately let out a sigh in relief once hearing her son was okay.

However, Lauren frowned. Not because Luke is okay, of course not. She was more than happy he's fine now, but because she knew she wouldn't be able to go in to check on him now. After all, it's his mother. Of course she would go in and not her. However, Lauren's thoughts were interrupted when Liz spoke.

''Go in, sweet heart.'' Liz smiled causing Lauren's eyes to widen. Did she just tell Lauren to go in to check on Luke?

''You- you sure?'' She couldn't help but smile widely at the women in front of her and her smile became even wider when Liz nodded.

Not wanting to stay without seeing Luke anymore, she literally ran towards the nurses to tell them that she will be going in.

Walking in on her tip toes, literally. Lauren's eyes softened once she saw Luke laying on the bed. His eyes closed with a purple bruise right over his left eye. His lip ring was removed and there was a cut over his bottom lip. More bruises and cuts were following all over his arm and even on his right leg.

Lauren didn't realize that there were tears running down her cheeks or that Luke had one eye opened until she heard his soft voice calling her name.

''C'mere.'' He whispered and she nodded, wiping away her eyes before slowly making her way towards him. Sitting down on her knees by his bed, she stared at Luke. Just stared while thinking.

If you told her just a few months ago that one day she will wait outside of Luke's room in the hospital for hours just to make sure he's okay, or tell her that she would be crying her eyes out for how worried she was about him, or tell her about the feelings going on through her mind and heart right now when Luke brushed his finger over the tear on her cheek, she wouldn't have believed you and would have probably laughed in your face. Just like she always did everytime Camila would tell her that she likes Luke and that one day she will be in love with Luke.

''I know i look terrible but no need to remind me that by staring.'' Luke chuckled softly, trying to lighten up the mood and Lauren couldn't help but smile softly at how perfect he is.

''What happened?'' Lauren finally asked, frowning softly at the - now close -  sight of the bruises.

''Remember that guy i beat at the party you and i went to? The one you kissed?'' Luke bite his lip but quickly hissed once he bite on the cut and Lauren's frown deepened before she slowly nodded. ''Well, him and about five other guys came to the park and yeah- this happened.'' Luke spoke, mentioning to his face and then body.

Lauren's eyes widened as she put her hand over her mouth, her eyes watering and face showing pure guilt. She caused this. It was all her fault. If she didn't kiss that guy that night and if she would have let Luke explain himself when he first called her name, none of this would have happened.

Luke understood what Lauren was thinking and he immediately shook his head, not wanting the girl he loves to feel guilt nor feel like it was her fault.

''Hey, hey, look at me.'' Luke whispered, gently caressing the beautiful girl's in front of him cheek while continuing. ''It's not your fault and most importantly, it's over now, i'm fine and you're here.'' Lauren couldn't help that her cheeks heat up nor that her lips pulled up into a soft smile.

However, she shook her head, biting her lip softly. ''If i didn't kiss him that night then you wouldn't have been here, it's my fault, Luke. You're here because of what i did. It wasn't worth your blood and bruises. I'm not worth it.'' Lauren's insecurities came back with each word she spoke.

Luke's eyes softened as he saw Lauren's eyes started to fill with tears and despite the pain in his back, he still sat up - as much as he was able to - so he can be closer to the girl he's in love with. Speaking softly, he brushed their noses together. ''You're the only thing in my life that's worth it, Lauren.''
