𝙽𝙴𝚆 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶𝚂 (𝙸)

After my parents spent more time with the rest of us, we all bid them a farewell, watchin' them leave to go back home.

The sun was just beginning to set once we all settled back in, everyone occupying a spot in the living room.

"I'm impressed," John said to me, bringin' Vic on his lap. "I've never seen a newborn show that kind of restraint."

"We sure he's a newborn?" Tyler asked, Coco loosely wrappin' her arm around his neck from behind. "He's so...tame..."

"Don't start, Ty," Mani said. "D's the strongest in the house."

Tyler scoffed.

"Please...stronger than me and John?"

"Wanna find out?" I asked, a challenging smirk etched on my face.

His expression matched mine as we went out to the backyard a little further into the woods.

John easily broke a tree trunk out of its roots, placing it down to serve as a make-shift table-top so me and Tyler could arm wrestle.

"Try not to hurt yourself, bro," Mani teased.

Tyler playfully gave her the finger before him and I got into position.

"Ya'll ready?" John asked. "On three...three!"

As soon as we got the go-ahead, I put all my strength into the match. For a good minute, neither me nor Tyler's arms went anywhere. But I wasn't even breakin' a sweat.

After gettin' a little bored, I started gaining strength over him as my arm pushed forward, bringin' his down until it hit the log. Everybody cheered, me dappin' Tyler up as we shared a laugh.

"Damn, bro," he said. "I take it back. But it's only 'cause you just so happen to be a top-notch athlete."

After a while, John and I took turns turnin' most of the trees around us into punching bags – makin' them crumble and break like they were nothin'.

Me and Coco did a last minute race around the trails to see who was faster. It was mad close – me only beating her by a millisecond.

After another hour of just goofin' off, I felt the sun comin' out from behind the clouds. I stepped into its rays, watching as my skin began to sparkle like diamonds from the light.

My time as a human was over. But I never felt more alive. I was born to be a vampire...

It was close to eleven at night, but Dinah was already out like a light.

Her and I spent most of the afternoon on baby duty, though we didn't mind one bit. I loved watching her come alive whenever she played with him.

She would've made the most amazing mother. But as I watched her sleep, a thought came to me.

She was so different from her siblings. Now that I knew why that was, I understood her a little better. But if I wanted to spend a lifetime with her, I needed to know more.
