Um hey... how y'all doin...

So I've said before that this book is dead, but it's been three years give or take and I've come up with more ideas :D

Also I've gotten a lot of love from this book so I thought I'd take another go at it.

Um please excuse the writing earlier in this book, I can't tell you how much I've grown and I can barely read some of the previous chapters- I'm telling you it literally hurts me and I only look back on it for narrative purposes.

Ok enough yapping from me, here's another chapter for all you lovely people <3.

The Mushroom Kingdom's monarch paced in her holding room.

The door creaked open and a familiar royal blue head of hair poked through.  Peach immediately stopped in her tracks.  She stared at the koopaling, eyes wide.

"Well?"

Peach's visitor shook his head.

"Ludwig, please" she croaked.

"I can't let you see her.  Even if I wanted to, Bowser won't let me" Ludwig stepped in the room, quietly shutting the door behind him.

Peach buried her hands in her face and slumped over on the bed.

"Peach, I'm really sorry"

"Is she safe?" she asked, not  bothering to look up.

"Of course.  She's with Lemmy"

A heavy, somber silence filled the space.  Peach stared at the ground and Ludwig nervously patted his thigh.

"If you really can't let me see her..." Peach finally spoke " Can you at least keep her safe for me?"

Ludwig nodded.

"And keep those Broodals away from her.  I don't like them and I think their up to no good"

"You and me both" Ludwig rolled his eyes at the mention of the henchmen.  Peach watched him from the bed.

"I don't know why your fath-"

"Bowser." Ludwig corrected her.

"Right..." she sighed " I don't know why he recruited them... he doesn't need them.  Mario will defeat them just the same.  If anything they're just getting in the way."

"Yeah, and it doesn't help that they're insufferable," Ludwig mumbled and opened the door.  He turned to face Peach again.

"Anything else, your majesty?"

Peach softly shook her head

"Thank you."

Ludwig nodded and exited the room. A laborious sigh left the queen's lips once her visitor had left.  She reached into a pocket in her dress and retrieved a tattered photograph.

"I'm so sorry, (y/n)..." she rasped, caressing the photo of her and the young princess "You were never supposed to get tangled up in this mess."

She closed her eyes and her brows furrowed.  She clutched the picture to her chest and laid down on her back.  She then turned over and let a few tears tumble down her pale cheeks.

"Got any stars?"

"Go fish"

"UGH!" Lemmy exasperated and plucked another card from the deck.

"Lemmy, I'm so bored, we've been playing this for an hour" (y/n) huffed.

"Well what else are we supposed to do?" he mumbled, shuffling his stack of cards.
