I'm standing at the funeral of a man that used to be my boss, the man that I used to go to if I needed help, the man that was once there for me when I needed to get away from my family, the man that I trusted with my whole life. The man that was no longer here.. Usually at these sorts of things I wouldn't be trying to hold back my tears especially considering the man I was almost crying over was my boss. Hell, if my father was here he'd probably be smacking the shit out of me for crying over a man that wasn't even family, for even crying at all.

One by one I watch people go up to the casket and pay their respects to the family. Meanwhile I couldn't even bring myself to walk over there and pay mine, but I couldn't have anyone asking questions on who I was or why I was here.

I keep glancing around the room paying attention to my surroundings when I notice a young girl, about my age. Her eyes were flooded with tears, as she squeezed her eyes shut tears came rolling down her cheeks and falling to the floor. Once she opened them, her eyes caught mine, she quickly looked away from me, wiping her tears making her thick ginger hair cover parts of her face. I noticed there were 2 kids with her, a little boy and girl, they were both holding onto her leg crying onto her. The boy had blonde hair, and the girl had ginger hair just like the woman I was looking at.

The boy's hair reminded me of my brothers, both my brothers had blonde hair. They would always make fun of me due to the fact that most of the members in our family had many different variants of blonde hair, while I was one of the few with brown hair.

I was deep in my thoughts when I felt my buddy Jackson lean closer to me and whispers, "Dom, that girl is starting to look suspicious, she keeps looking around the room, and she keeps looking at you." I immediately looked up and saw the same girl I had before but this time there were tears and mascara stains smeared all down her cheeks. We made direct eye contact for a few seconds until I noticed that she had something in her hand.. A note? We make eye contact again before she drops the note on the floor and walks to the other side of the room to a small group of people.

Jackson and I glance over at each other before walking over there. I kneel down, grab the note and I feel the color drain out of my face as I read the note.

"You aren't going to find her here."

A chill ran down my spine. I had never met this girl, never heard from her or about her, and never even seen her until today. So why did she have a note telling me we weren't going to find who we are looking for? Who is she? How did she know who we were looking for? "What does it say?"

Jackson asks me worriedly, snapping me out of my thoughts once again, "Here." I say as I handed him the note. Moments later he looks up at me, his eyes wide. "You know what we are going to have to do right?" I ask hoping that he remembers the plan we had talked about last night, even after his 5 whiskey drinks he had. "Honestly man I don't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning so no I don't remember." I roll my eyes, he is such a fucking idiot. "Last night we had talked about how if we found someone here that seemed suspicious we would follow and confront them." "And why do we have to do this again? I mean don't get me wrong I look hot as fuck in a suit but I still don't understand why we have to do this." "May I remind you this was our bosses last mission, to find out what happened and who took the girl, and from what we found out from this note the woman standing right over there-"

I stop mid sentence as I start looking around the room for the woman that was once standing 15 feet from us. "Where the fuck did she go?" I turn to ask Jackson but he's already running out the door and I chase right after him.

As I'm running a man comes around the corner with glasses of champagne and I run right into him. We both fall to the floor with the glasses following us down and the room is followed by gasps all around. We were both soaked from the champagne all over us, I looked around at all the people looking at us then turned to the man I ran into. He looked visibly uncomfortable with all the people watching us so I quickly helped the man up and got all the shards of glass off me. "Shit I'm sorry man let me help you with it." I bend down to help him pick up the glass and he just shouts "No you've already done enough you don't need to do anymore!" I stand there too stunned to speak so I just slowly back away and go to the door.
