Jennie stood in Lisa's empty room in her blue cap and gown and gold sash hanging around her neck, trying to calm her nerves down from jumping out of her skin.
This was it for her.
The end of a chapter, and the beginning of a new one for the rest of her life. With Lisa.
She was terrified, excited, happy and sad all at the same time, but most of all, she was missing Lisa.
Her mother and chitthip entered the room, watching as the collage graduate started into the full body mirror, nervously fidgeting with her hair underneath the vari she was wearing.
Her mother's eyes were filled with tears, as chitthip was breaming with pride.
"It's time dear. Chaeyoung is waiting for you so you can go together." Her mother announced, sniffing.
Jennie turned to face her mother, tears of her own made her eyes glossy as she nodded nervously.
Chaerin walked forward and hugged her daughter tightly, realising her baby was no longer a baby, but a collage graduate and ready to take on the world.
"Me and your dad are so so proud of you dear. You are far more than we ever imagined you to be, and we already had such high dreams for you. You deserve this moment, try to enjoy it okay?" Chaerin whispered, patting her daughter's back.
Jennie have her mother a quick nod before detaching herself, only to be scooped into chitthip's arm.
"You know Lisa is so proud of you dear. I've gotten to know you this past year and I'm so thankful for who you are. Go up there with your head held high, and show them why you deserve to be up there." Chitthip declared smiling.
"Thank you so much. I wouldn't have survived the past six months with your support." Jennie whispered honestly.
Pulling away, chitthip's eyes filled with tears. "You're family now, dear. It's what we do. Now go enjoy your day. We will all be there waiting for you."
Shooting chaerin a wink, chitthip gave Jennie over last squeeze, before letting her go and watching as Jennie left the room.
Once she was out of their sight, both the mothers have each other a knowing smile and left the room.
_____________
Jennie drove her car with Chaeyoung beside her as coldplay's hit 'sky full of stars' was played softly throught the radio, following in the background with music.
Smiling, she turned up the volume and breathed in every lyric, thinking of Lisa. God what she wouldn't give to see her beautiful proud smile she knew she would be sporting of she were here.
Once they reached the parking lot, they parked the car turning off the engine. Neither she nor Chaeyoung made a move to exit the car until the song had finished, both giving each others watery smile as the moment they had worked so hard for four years became reality.
Once they each took a moment to gather themselves, and make sure the few years that had escaped hadn't ruined their makeup, they exited the car, prepare to take on anything the world has to give.
They went in separate directions since their degrees were different, Jennie made her way to officiates area, with other valedictorians, ready to take her seat on the stage with others making speeches today.
She sat nervously fidgeting in her seat as the graduates and families took their seats in the giant field.
She signed in relief when she saw the proud gazes of her family and Manoban's took their seats with her father and Mike. Even Seulgi and Irene were present. They left five empty seats in between them. Curious as to why they were saving five seats, she wracked her brain for other family members that were yet so show up, but couldn't remember any more. She shook her head lightly assuming it was for someone else.
