«When I was born, Set was not only angry at his brother, but also at me, like it was my fault. I basically only had my mother, as my father wouldn't ever consider me. Centuries later, a few years after Horus' birth, my brother, Wepwawet, was born. He was his favorite and always let us compete against each other. To be honest, neither me or him cared about being better than the other, I didn't care if he didn't care about me, he was awful anyway. But everything changed when I chose my first portray. I think in human years, I was fifteen. When Thoth introduced the idea, everyone wanted to get one, and it was a mess. All of the gods wanted to choose important people, like pharaohs. But I knew this would've happened, so I chose a simple citizen. We were both mentally young, so we got along very well, he was my first best friend. Since he aged quicker than me, when he was in his twenties, we saw Set's portray, I didn't think anything bad about it at first, until he pulled his weapon out. He killed him, and after doing it he decided to kill his portray too. So he did it just for fun. Since then, I never trusted him again and I made sure none of my portrays got close to his

I let him talk for hours, telling me exactly how he felt during these past centuries. When he was finished, he exhaled loudly, I didn't think he ever talked so much to me. He put a hand on his forehead and grunted.
«I'm sorry, I got carried away.»
He apologized, I rised my shoulders in response.
«It's fine, that's what I wanted to know.»
He sighed and got up, walking around the room in a worried manner.
«I think we might have to go away sooner than expected, and it's all my fault, I talked so much about him, that Set probably knows where we are. He's so furious at me that he'll kill everyone here.»

He explained, I felt the anxiety in his voice, and judging by his nervous hand gestures and how low his ears were, I could tell this was serious. He covered his face.
«This is-»
He got interrupted by the door swinging open, Callie and Quinn rushing into the room, but then stopping and both their eyes wide open.
«Oh, sorry, we didn't know you were in a meeting with your God...»
I furrowed my eyebrows, I didn't think they would actually see him. I grabbed my phone to type, and I saw Callie doing the same.

"You can see him?"

Callie read the message.
«Well, yeah... Kind of. But in our eyes he's just a shadow with glowing eyes. Anyway, Ben wants to talk to you, it looks important.»
I nodded and stood up, quickly putting my shoes on. While going down the stairs, I encountered Bryant that was already there, a phone in his hand. By his look, it wasn't something good. I slowly reached him and we just stared at each other silently, he put a hand around my back to bring me out, far from everyone.
He mouthed, "It's for you".

With my hands shaking, I grabbed the phone and put it near my ear.
«Hello?»
I said with my voice trembling, I knew it couldn't be my mother because it was too early, and she would have sent me a message to tell me she was calling.
It also wasn't possible that it was one of my friends, they never call me, let alone from Bryant's number, so I had no idea on who it could be.

I put a hand on my stomach when I heard a familiar voice speaking from the other side. It was my father.
«Isaac, please tell me it's you...»
«What do you want?»
I tried to sound though, but my voice breaking didn't help at all. In the meantime, Bryant was looking at me while biting his nails, I think he's more nervous than me and I don't even know why.

«Listen, I know you know everything, so just tell me where you are, exactly. Please.»
It didn't sound like a threat, he was more scared than angry.
«How did you find this number? And why didn't you call me on mine?»
Knowing he was so nervous made me slightly feel better. I heard him sigh.
«You blocked me. And you don't know how long it took for me to find this.»
«Wait... Weren't you supposed to be in jail?»
«I... He... It's too complicated to explain. Now please, tell me where you are or he'll kill both of us.»

I put a hand on my forehead, he was so stupid for thinking he would kill us only if he didn't do as he said.
«You know that if he finds me, he'll kill me. Or worse.»
«I know, but there is a way...»
«What way?»
«I can't tell you. Shit, Isaac... He knows where you are. He's going to kill me know.»
«Get off the phone and run!»
I screamed at him, I couldn't believe he was so dumb. If he was in a horror movie he'd be the first one to die for sure.

«It's useless. Just know, I love you, believe me, I was so happy to have you and this bastard took everything away from me, I never meant to harm you, I wanted to be a normal dad. I know you'll never forgive me, but please, understand. I love you so much and I'm so sorry.»
He said the last sentence so fast while crying that I could barely understand, and then I heard a loud scream.
I closed the call and handed the phone to the teacher. I couldn't believe what just happened.

«What happened?»
He asked worried, I was so shocked I couldn't even look at him. Everything felt so unreal.
«Set. He killed my dad. And he knows where I am.»
I said in a whisper. He just covered his mouth and hugged me tightly.
