I stayed up all night, too scared that Set would attack us earlier than expected, but that was a fatal mistake. I was so tired I could barely think, thankfully I wasn't the only one who had a restless night. Judging by how they looked, Callie and Quinn didn't get a lot of sleep either. Bryant approached me, looking worn out. «How did you sleep?»
I looked at him with tired eyes, and I thought he understood the message, because he nodded understanding.
«We didn't see him at all, that means he did this on purpose to make us tired. I'm going to be honest, but I expected that.»

«What are we going to do now?»
He shrugged and rubbed his tired eyes, fighting back the urge to fall asleep right in front of me. He excused himself to talk with Alice, and when I turned around I noticed Quinn was definitely trying to avoid looking at me, I didn't understand why since it's not even my fault. Though I could understand why she was angry. Frankly I was almost relieved it was the day, so we could finish this story and go home, finally. I just hoped we could beat him.

It was pretty early, around seven in the morning, and I was starting to wonder why Set still didn't show up, the only thing that worried me was if he came here right before midnight, that way we'd be too tired to even stand up. Maybe he wasn't so evil to do that... I hoped. I wished I could go back to sleep, but now I had to focus and don't think about sleeping, otherwise I couldn't concentrate. I spoke for a few minutes with Callie, and she seemed strangely calm about this, I needed to know how, it was impossible for me.

The girls were already in their armor, but I wasn't because I still didn't understand how they could do it, and Anubis still wasn't on sight. I even asked Bryant but he didn't know either, could it be he was still sad about yesterday? Or maybe he was just too nervous to talk with me or Bryant. I kept checking outside in case something would change, or if anyone suspicious appeared. Thankfully nothing happened for an hour, but then things started to feel weird. The sky kept getting darker, and even if it was summer the air felt a little colder than usual.

We knew he was close and that was making my heart jump out of my chest from how hard it was beating, I could also feel like it was inside my head. Anubis decided to finally show up.
«Do you think he's going to be here soon?»
He looked at the sky and shook his head.
«I don't think so. He's giving us time to change our minds and to give you to him.»
«And how long do you think it will take for him to get here?»
«Definitely a couple of hours.»

I felt a bit more relieved to hear that, maybe we can use this time to prepare both mentally and physically.
I was so nervous about it that even my nails started to hurt, and my stomach felt like it was being moved around. Sometimes my breath was so irregular I thought I was going to die soon.
And honestly I wouldn't mind that since it meant that I wouldn't be here to fight Set, I was desperate at this point. I was so sure we could beat him but at the same time I was deadly afraid we couldn't.

More than a couple of hours passed, it was six in the evening, and yet no sight of the God of Chaos. I was sitting on the ground next to Bryant, talking about whatever came up to mind, when finally I got the courage to tell him something I wanted to do for a long time.
«I was thinking, after... This, could you live with us?»
«You mean live in your house?»
«Yes.»
He smiled surprised at my request, I hoped he would accept.
«Isaac, I don't think I can. What about your mother?»
«I'm sure she won't mind, you could help us too, so maybe she won't have two jobs anymore and she can actually rest.»

He went quiet after that.
«I'm sorry, I don't want to be a bother and I don't even think that's a possible thing to do...»
«Can't Anubis mind control everyone so that you can live with us? You won't even have to marry my mother.»
He looked at me with a conflicted smile.
«I really don't want to marry your mother. She's definitely too young and I'm not interested in marrying anyone.»
I laughed audibly.
«I was joking, there's no way I'd let you date my mother either way.»

We talked more about my great idea, but after his points I guess he was right, he couldn't actually live with us, but he would still visit everyday and could help my mother with her jobs. We are interrupted with everyone else running into this room, Quinn screaming about something that I didn't understand and Alice telling her to calm down, while Callie looked at them worried.
Quinn was crying and hyperventilating, since she was so close to the window, that's when I noticed the sky was completely red, almost like blood.

Bryant stood up and went near Alice, also trying to calm her down, I got next to Callie.
«Quinn, calm down, what happened?»
«Thoth! I can't feel him anywhere, when I call him he doesn't answer, and I can't even use my armor anymore! I've been looking for him for hours, but I can't find him nowhere, it's like I'm not even his portray anymore...»
She said between sobs, Alice hugged her, attempting to soothe her.
Bryant thought for a few seconds.
«I see, but you don't feel any pain, do you?»
She shook her head. Bryant looked defeated and put a hand on his forehead.

«Quinn, I think Thoth... Is dead. And that means Set is here.»
