Flash back~ Amidst the soft glow of fireflies, laughter danced through the air as a little girl, Kyouki, frolicked joyfully. "Big brother!!" she exclaimed, her voice brimming with excitement, "I found my companions before you, and it's not just one, see how many there are!! Hahaha," she declared, her laughter blending with the gentle chirping of insects. Eidu, her older brother, smiled warmly at her enthusiasm. "That's good, Kyouki. I'm happy that my sister is more talented than me," he replied, his voice filled with genuine affection. End Flash back~
As the memory faded, Eidu's expression grew somber. "The girl you saw that night was my sister. She's no longer alive. And that deer you mentioned, neither is he. They both are dead and have become Emovers," he explained, his tone serious and grave.
Kuro's response was unexpected, laughter bubbling up from within him. "Hahaha, Lol!! Now my dreams are getting serious too!" he exclaimed, pointing at Eidu. "Dude, trust me, I feel sad about your sister, but look, I have a life. I can't be stuck forever in this dream. My alarm will ring soon, and we'll meet next night."
Eidu's gaze remained steady, his silence speaking volumes as Kuro's words washed over him. Finally, he spoke, his voice measured and resolute. "If you want to leave, then just leave. We can handle things as we have been until now. But you have no right to say anything about what you don't understand."
Kuro's laughter faltered, replaced by a sense of understanding. "Okay, okay, I understand. I'll stop now. Just wait till morning, and then I'll disappear from this dream," he conceded, his tone more subdued as the weight of Eidu's words settled upon him.
"Hope so, you'll wake soon," Eidu murmured, his voice heavy with sadness.
Though Eidu harbored a desire to reveal the truth to Kuro, he remained bound by the constraints of his master's command. With a heavy heart, he turned away, his footsteps echoing softly as he departed from the scene, leaving Kuro alone.
Kuro was alone, waiting to finish what he thought was a dream, though it felt real this time. He couldn't grasp it, speaking to himself, "This dream is strange, longer than others, and I'm aware of it. But it can't be real, can it?" After hours of pondering, he decided to explore outside.
Meanwhile, Eidu sat on a tree, remembering the old days playing with emovers with friends. Suddenly, he heard footsteps—it was Kuro.
"It's not safe for him to stay out," Eidu muttered to himself in shock as he watched Kuro walking towards the 'lake of memories'. This place revealed unconscious memories, ones filled with deep emotions. "This isn't good," Eidu murmured, but before he could intervene, Kuro had already reached it.
Kuro stared into the lake and saw a reflection: his mother, lifeless and covered in blood. Memories flooded back, and Kuro was overwhelmed. Eidu arrived, realizing it was too late. He hugged Kuro tightly, reassuring him, "It'll be alright. Death is inevitable, but love endures. She'll return in another form someday."
