Chapter 8- Leo's Ex mate

Camilla's POV

I watched her freeze from my outburst. What does she mean by she was not the Luna of the pack?

"I want every detail, or you can get your stuff and get out of my company," I said angrily.

"After the Alpha's mate abandoned him, he took me in as Luna and I assumed my responsibility in the pack. Three years ago, he kicked me out of the position and left me to fend for myself. I was used and abandoned to fend for myself. Please give me this chance, no one on pack lands would hire me. Please, I really need this job," she pleaded, and I held back my laughter.

It was obvious she was trying to get pity from me, but I was far from that. I can't even believe her story as it may not be true, or she was looking for a way to get me to favor her, but she got it all wrong. She would never have my pity or sympathy.

"I have heard you, Ravana, and my condition hasn't changed. You are to follow whatever instructions that are being given to you in this office. If you do not like this, you're free to quit," I said, and I could see rage in her eyes.

"Please shut the door on your way out," I said as she turned and angrily walked away.

As soon as she left, my phone began to ring. I picked up the phone to see that it was Leo.

"Hello," I said as I picked up the call.

"Hi, hope I am not disturbing," he said.

"No, no, of course not," I replied. I don't see why he would think he was disturbing me when I was already waiting for his call.

"Okay, I happen to be in the city and I was hoping I could see you," he said.

"You can come by my office then. You will be more than welcome," I said.

"Sure, send me your location then," he said as he hung up the call. I didn't waste time to forward him the company's location.

Soon I was back to work, and I was anxious. My wolf couldn't wait to see him again. On the other hand, I was scared of him. What if he turns out to be like Enzo in the end? I shook the thought out of my head as I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I called out as the door opened and Erica strolled in.

"Sorry to disturb you, but Mr. Leo is asking to see you," Erica said, and I nodded.

"Bring him in, please," I said, and she nodded and returned.

Soon the door opened and Leo stepped in, his scent hitting me as I took it in. I stood up as he came in with a broad smile, holding some roses in his hands like a perfect gentleman. As soon as he was within my reach, I reached out to hug him.

"I told you that you would be so welcome here," I said, giggling.

"I can see that. See what I got you," he said, giving me roses. I could feel tears in my eyes. It had been so long since I had received any romantic gesture. Enzo was never romantic, but just this flower meant a lot to me.

"Thank you so much. I love it," I replied, and he leaned in to kiss my forehead.

"I'm glad you love it," he said.

"Oh, forgive my manners. Have a seat," I said, and he nodded, taking a seat.

"So, how is work?" he asked.

"Work is even better while you're here," I said.

With that, we dove into a conversation, full of me giggling and him telling me a lot about himself. I had never felt so alive in my life as I listened to him talk about almost everything that seemed to interest him.

There was a knock on the door, and I called for the person to come in. Revana walked in with her head held high. As soon as she got to my office, she handed over a file I was in need of. Just as she was about to head back,
she froze and looked Leo in the eyes. Leo's eyes widened as he took her in.

"What are you doing here?" Leo growled out, his eyes flashing black to show his wolf was on the surface.

"Hey, chill. What is going on? Of course, she is my assistant," I said, and I could see his eyes narrow.

"And she was my ex-mate," he said, and I gasped in shock.

So that means Revana was indeed the mate of Leo, the one who rejected him for another man. It didn't take me much time to figure out that it was indeed Enzo who she had left him for.
