As he scrolled through his phone, he heard a knock on the door.

"Who's there?" he asked without looking in the direction.

"Sir called you downstairs," someone from their workers said. He nodded in response, quickly getting up from his place and heading downstairs.

He hesitantly approached his father, who was sitting on couch with crossed legs.

"You called me?" he said, gaining his attention

"You called me?" he said, gaining his attention.

"Sit here," his father looked at him and signaled for him to sit beside him, and he did so obediently, like the kid he is. "How's it going?"

He looked at him in confusion, not understanding.

"What... Dad?" he finally let those words out.

"I was talking about your study," his father said.

"Oh, yes, it's all good," he replied, utterly shocked because his parents never asked him about his study and life; all they do is guide him about their family rituals and awareness for the future.

"Good, your teacher told me about you. What are you planning after graduation?"

"Whatever you say," he said without even thinking twice.

"Good to know my son is getting wiser," his father passed him a little smile
"Mr. Han, my son is going with me, so book two tickets," his father said.

Not understanding there conservation he asked.
"Where are we going?"

"You will know soon"
As Jungkook and his father were discussing on some matters. Suddenly, the door creaked open, drawing their attention. In walked a striking woman in her late 40s, Jungkook's mother, his mother exuded a captivating charm, her presence instantly lighting up his mood.

"Mom, you are home so early?" Jungkook ran to her, like a 5 years old

"Sike, the weather was so hot.." She immediately removed her heels and sunglasses and join them with their conversation

Wearing an elegant attire adorned with a pendant, sunglasses perched atop her head, she one by one removed all the accessories. Jungkook couldn't help but feel happy, meeting his mother after a long time.

"Mom, are you feeling tired?"

"Come-on son, I am not even that old,"
Jungkook noticed a subtle softness in his mother's eyes whenever she looked at him. It was as if she understood the pressure he faced and harbored a secret desire to shield him from it.

"Oh dear husband, what could possibly be more alluring to you than the presence of your wife?" She said looking at his husband who was busy in some documents, he choked on the air after hearing her statement

"Not infront of Jungkook, Are you flirting with me?" He said, with same cold expression but his mom is used to this kind of behaviour

"Isn't Jungkook old enough to understand everything? Right kook?" His mother looked at him with a side eye

Jungkook smiled at them while nodding a little.

"What are you doing there? Come, sit here." His mother said

"No, It's fine, I am good here." He said

"What happened Son? Your Dad again scolded you? Huh?" She looked at him ready for an argument with his Father

"No.. No, he didn't said anything." He shook his head as his mother chuckled

"You are still a baby.. but you have grown up a lot."

"Well I never grew up for you. Did I?"

"Sure, for me you are still a little penguin, who roam here and there, creating trouble." His mother's words tugged at his heartstrings, evoking memories of his carefree childhood and youth hood reminding him of the days when he used to wander aimlessly, seeking solace in his mother's comforting presence. Three years had passed, yet the echoes of those moments lingered in his mind

Jungkook's thoughts got interrupted by his mother "What are you thinking?" she asked, her eyes filled with concern.

He shook himself out of his reverie, plastering on a casual smile. "Nothing, just lost in the past, actually a little bit hungry." he replied.

Her brow furrowed in disbelief. "It's 11 pm, and you haven't eaten anything?" she exclaimed, her tone a blend of disbelief and motherly worry.

"Usually, I eat at this time."

"But that's not good for your health! Don't you want to have a healthy body like your mother?" his father interjected, concern evident in his voice.

"Like your mother? Who taught you volleyball and taekwondo for 10 years?" His father finally spoke, raising an eyebrow.

"Maybe a guy who used to give me all of his attention and time, probably not you, old man," she retorted, her tone sharp.

His jaw dropped to the floor. "Hey, wait a minute! Were you taking some classes to be a cool mother or wife?"

"Nah, but I will take some lessons on how to avoid boring people," she declared dramatically, sending him a flying kiss.

"Uhm, mom..." Jungkook began, unsure how to intervene.

"Let's go, Kook, I'll cook something for you," she said, abruptly getting up from her seat and adjusting her dress.

"Dear perfect woman, let me remind you, you don't know how to even boil an egg," his father remarked, crossing his arms and leaning back in his seat.

"Don't worry, my son will help me, right?" she said, grabbing Jungkook's arm and dragging him towards the kitchen.

"But, Mom, I'm not really that hungry," Jungkook protested weakly.

"I am your Mom, you aren't my Mom! If I say you're hungry, then you are," she insisted, leading him away.

"Don't put my house on fire," his father shouted from behind, a mischievous smile playing on his lips, adding to the chaos of the moment.
