"Ryder!" I gasped at his appearance, he wore jeans, and a black t shirt with a leather jacket over it. It gave him a "bad boy" vibe which I hate to admit seemed to fit his personality but also looked good on him. While his clothing looked fine the rest of him did not. His right eye had a small bruise forming under it and his lip was split, his neck had some bruising and I was sure other parts of him did too.
He made his way to my kitchen grabbing a glass of water before leaning onto his hands on the island wincing a bit. I quickly got up from the couch without a second thought and made my way to the bathroom instincts kicking in. Rummaging through my storage I found a first aid kit and made my way back in.
"I'm fine princess" Ryder spoke and I shook my head.
"Bullshit. You just winced" I glanced to where he was no longer applying pressure on his left wrist. "You also look horrible" I added as my eyes scanned over his face again and Ryder smirked.
"You should see the other guy" he teased and I rolled my eyes.
"I thought you said you were at the gym?" I squinted at him.
"Yeah, I was...training" Ryder didn't miss a beat and I turned to Luke than Nate who both nodded as if to confirm his story and I sighed.
"Okay... training for what then?" I questioned challenging him. He had answered quickly enough that nobody would question: but I wasn't just nobody and he had glanced to his right which is psychology world meant he was lying.
"Hand on hand combat..." he answered again without missing a beat, his eyes stayed on mine and I nodded.
"That doesn't change the fact that you're hurt. Up on the counter" I nodded to the counter behind him and he sighed.
"Princess I'm fine..." he repeated and my eyes met his.
"Ryder... up on the counter." I repeated again sternly and he held his hands up in surrender and he turned and jumped onto the counter. "Jacket off" I raised my brow and he shrugged his jacket off wincing as he did so. "Shirt too" I added realizing that he probably had bruising on his ribs.
"Princess if you wanted me naked..." Ryder teased and I rolled my eyes as I made my way over to him.
"Hey Luke.. can you grab me some face clothes... they're in the bathroom in the cabinet... you'll see them" Luke turned on his heels without a response as I started to examine Ryder. I instantly began to regret my decision. I stood in between Ryders Legs dangerously close, I could hear his breathing and feel the heat from his body and I could sense his eyes on me. I did my best to calm my heart rate with a few deep breaths.
I started by looking at his eye. He had split it open right above the brow but besides that and some bruising his eye seemed fine. I reached for a butterfly stitch in my kit before applying it to his brow.
"Here" Luke returned with some wash clothes.
"Ice please" * nodded my head to the freezer and he did as told coming back a few seconds later with ice in the face cloth and I handed it to Ryder my eyes finally meeting his. "Hold it in your lip please" I spoke and he decided to fight back and instead nodded holding it to his lip. I moved to his wrist examining it. There was already serious discoloration around it. "You should probably learn to throw a proper punch" I teased as I flexed his hand up and down as he grumbled a few curses.
"Fuck." He winced as I rotated his wrist and my eyes met his. "I can throw a proper punch." He muttered through gritted teeth and I simply huffed a laugh.
"Not broken" I spoke my eyes meeting his again and I realized just how close we were. "Bad bruising and most likely a sprain... but not a break" I continued before wrapping up his wrist. I finally allowed my eyes to trace down his body taking in his chest. And holy FUCK. The thoughts that traveled through my mind were very much so rated R. his chest was littered with tattoos that traveled up his chest to his should and turned into a sleeve on one arm and a half sleeve on the other. My mouth went dry at the sight, I never thought tattoos were sexy but Ryder made them SO sexy.
"Lost your words princess?" Ryder smirked as he watched me check him out and I cleared my throat. Ignoring his words I glanced down to his ribs and the bruises that littered them. Some were older some were new, definitely all from fighting. I did't bother to warn him or apologize for my cold hands because I didn't trust my voice. Instead I began to touch the bruises lightly pressing against the ribs to make sure nothing was out of place. "Anything?" Ryder questioned and so I shook my head no.
"Not broken" I squeaked mentally cursing at my awkwardness as I distanced myself from him. Ryder jumped down from the counter before sliding on his shirt and leaving the jacket off.
"Thanks princess" he gave me a quick side hug before turning to Nate and Luke who stood their eyes wide "Are you two idiots ready" he questioned without hesitation they both looked at him a silent conversation happening. He sighed for a second before turning back to me. "Have you eaten dinner yet?" He asked catching me off guard and I realized that I hadn't.
"I'll order pizza" Luke spoke smiling which told me that they were planning to stick around and I sighed.
"Thanks" I nodded to Luke as I left to put the first aid kit away. I swung by my room to grab a sweatshirt too because I was freezing entering the room I saw the three guys huddled in the kitchen.
"So he fought you?" Nate questioned and Ryder nodded his head.
"Yeah he got the jump on me. I wasn't expecting it." Ryder grumbled. "But I took care of him..." he added and my eyes widened, did he mean that he had killed someone? I panicked for a second "he just has a broken leg and had to go get checked out...he's fine" Ryder continued and I figured one of the guys must have given him a look.
"Did they know you were talking to us?" Luke questioned. I knew I shouldn't eaves drop it felt wrong, but I knew they were being secretive about something and if they weren't going to tell me I was going to find out one way or another.
"No they just thought that I was talking to my girlfriend..." Ryder confirmed.
"But you don't have a girlfriend..." Nate added and Ryder stiffened.
"But they don't know that...." Ryder countered .
"But what about the deal?" Nate asked and Ryder stiffened.
"Are you done eavesdropping Princess?" He questioned turning around with a smirk and my eyes widened.
"I uh: wasn't eavesdropping... I was just coming back from returning the med kit and you guys seemed to be in a serious conversation so I decided it may be best if I just stay over here..." I rambled and he just raised a brow at me.
"We'll go ahead. I know based on what you heard you have questions... I can practically see them swirling in that brain of yours so ask." I heard both Nate and Luke make a sound but Ryder just sent them a glare and they stopped.
"So someone thinks I'm your girlfriend... and you didn't correct them" I asked trying not to give a satisfied grin and the expression he made. I knew his little game and I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of thinking I cared about the important details even though I did.
"That would be correct." He nodded.
"And why didn't you correct them?" I questioned.
"Because for now, it's better that they think I am in a serious committed relationship." He pursed his lips ever so slightly as his fingers fidgeted.
"Ahh. Personal gain... makes sense considering that you don't exactly strike me as someone who does relationships yet alone commitment... let me guess never the same girl twice?" Luke let out a little oh shit. And Ryder shrugged it off stepping closer to me.
"Most girls get attached, desperate, clingy... that's something I can't have happening." He shrugged. "Any other questions" he continued doing his best to change the subject.
"Why'd you lie?" I asked and he gave me a confused look. "You said you were training earlier and even before this conversation I could tell you lied.... So did those two..." I turned to pull myself up on the island across from where the guys were. "So why?" I questioned and Ryder shrugged.
