Kakeru's PoV

Sakura was acting odd throughout the entire course of dinner. Being the suspicious person I am, I followed her upstairs shortly after she's finished her meal.

I heard sounds of clicking coming from Shiki's room. I opened the door quietly, there she was, standing in front of his laptop, so absorbed in something that she didn't realize me coming in.

"What're you doing in here?" I ask in a stern voice. Her head whipped around, showing her slightly red eyes. Why was she crying?

She let out a little yelp, backing herself up against the wall before I even pinned her against it.

"What were you looking through?" I ask again, my gaze glaring intently into hers.

"I-I was just interested in...what was on his laptop." She lied, I clearly told.

I pressed onto her harder, "What. Were. You looking through?"

She swallowed hard, "I was just...I needed to know more about myself before I'm willing to die."

"Why should we believe that?"

I didn't need to glance over my shoulder to know that it was Satoru leaning against the door frame. Apart from me, he was the sharpest out of all of us.

"You don't need to." Sakura said, her gaze turning harsh.

"What do you mean by 'know more about yourself'?" Satoru walked into the room, shutting the door behind him. I back away from pinning her on the wall.

"The whole reason why I asked for ten days." She finally said, probably thinking that she had no choice since we were pressing so hard.

I frowned at her, she wasn't making much sense so far.

"That is my personal business." She added, not having any hints of adding anything.

"That you have to spill since you were looking through Shiki's laptop." Satoru argued back calmly, "I saw this as the future when you handed me a plate."

She glared right back, obviously not buying it.

"You know that we can just toast you right here, right now." I threatened, even though I'm not actually going to do it. "So answer the question."

Clearly she was taken aback, "I have no memories of my past."

She said simply, but it was enough.

Satoru and I shared a quick glance.

I see, she expected to find more of her past in our database.

"Ever heard of permanent records?" Satoru says in a lazy voice, clearly still not believing her story.

She rolled her eyes, "Checked. Didn't even list my biological parents' names."

"You don't know your parents?" I ask. None of us bothered to look into her ancestries, who knows if there actually are no information.

Sakura shook her head, while taking glances at the laptop, still.

Without a word, I bent down, and browsed the webpage. There's got to be something in here.

"Kakeru...." Satoru sighed as he stood in front of the door, blocking Sakura's only exit. In case she wants to run out, or that someone might come in. Satoru does not believe in modern technology, he probably doesn't even know how to use a TV remote, let alone a laptop.
