I glared as Mikasa dragged Eren down the hall. Even though we might have been together, he was still a fucking asshole.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Marco standing there with his arms crossed.

I turned to him and gave him a look." What?"

He walked over and shook his head." I just find it odd how Mikasa didn't catch on yet."

"You better have fun at that concert then, because Eren and I will make sure her being away is worth it."

He laughed and nodded." Don't worry. While you're in charge of the house, make sure the drunkards stay drunk in the basement."

"I'll try?" I walked over to my locker and took out all that I needed, stuffing it all into my backpack. I looked back at Marco and sighed. I was stupid by making him go somewhere with Mikasa. He was sure to die if she found out he was helping hide Eren and I's relationship.

Though... there was something about Marco doing this that confused me. Sure, he didn't mind hiding our relationship and help keeping it a secret but there was something bugging him. I knew it might've been something from back then.....

That wasn't important right now. I slammed my locker and walked down the hall. What happened years ago was something I didn't need to remember.

I glanced over at Marco, who smiled lightly. What the fuck is he thinking?

I looked at the clock and sighed. It was around 2am and I couldn't sleep well. I closed my eyes, finally giving up not sleeping. This wasn't usual for me. I never really did sleep at all. I decided that my problem was lack of music.

So I plugged my headphones into my phone and when to the one band that I just fucking loved. Falling In Reverse.

It wasn't long until I fell asleep, Sink or Swim playing in the background.

"Jean!!!"

I heard the scream from the other room.

My ten year old self rushed off to see what was the matter. Outside, there was like a thunderstorm or something. Anyway, I ran into Marco's room, where the scream was coming from.

Marco was literally afraid of anything that was extremely loud. It was only due to the fact that his parents' death happened with a loud noise. A train, to be exact.

I rushed over to Marco, who was huddling under his blankets.

I rolled my eyes and climbed into the bed." You alright Marco?"

He looked at me with tearful eyes." Of course not! I'm dying!"

The thing was, Marco's parents and, Marco of course, were driving to the next city, Sina for some reason. Now you see, Marco's parents were extremely lucky people. That day it seemed as if their luck ran out. But not Marco's. Oddly, they didn't see the runaway train in time. The last thing his parents could hear was the horn of a train. Miraculously, Marco survived and was in the hospital for three months. And might I just say that Marco was four when that happened.

So now Marco was afraid of really loud noises. Example: Thunder.

I sighed and wrapped my arms around the freckled boy, who was now shivering." Sheesh, freckles. Come 'ere."

Even though Marco was a few months younger, I treated him like a younger child, which wasn't really fair to him.

He wrapped his arms around my waist and we stayed in silence like that until I said," I'm going back to bed. Just sleep, okay?"
