- Hadia -
By Thursday, it was decided that the wedding was going to take place on Saturday. I felt it was rushed, but clearly, Mr. Mustafa wanted this done as soon as possible.
I was finishing up any arrangements for the upcoming month, planning the events, dinners, and any other important meetings, and with the launch of the new game, and Mr. Mustafa inductions to the media, press, and business as the new CEO of Ibrahim Industry, it was especially busy.
I was typing away when my phone rang. Picking it up, I looked at the caller ID.
"Hey Sofia, what's up?" I asked as I continued to type. "Hey Hadia. I was wondering if you could come down to the third floor for a minute?" She asked, sounding anxious. "Is everything okay? You sound upset." I asked, getting worried.
"I think it's best if you come down." She replied. "Okay, I'll be right there." I said, getting up. I hung up the phone and ran down to the third floor.
I saw Sofia standing in front of the main developer team. "Is everything okay?" I asked, approaching her.
She nodded her head 'no', holding my hand she pulled me into the developer lab.
Everyone stood around different PCs, looking worried and tense. At first glance, everything looked okay until I took a closer look. "Why is there water everywhere?" I asked.
"Apparently, some water pipe burst, and that one is the one going by this lab." Sébastien said, walking up to us.
"Are the PCs working?" I asked. "Some of them aren't. We turned off the few that were working to be safe." He explained. "Good thinking." I commented.
Before I spoke again, my phone started buzzing. Quickly taking it to check what it was. "Hey Ada, everything okay?" I asked. "No, Hadia, the pcs in the marketing department are offline, and I'm getting complaints from other departments too." She explained.
"Same here for the developer lab. I'll figure something out and let you know." I said. "Great, I'll be waiting then." "Yea. Just try to keep everyone under control." I said.
I ended the call. I started thinking of what I could do. "Is everything on backup and safe?" I asked. Everyone nodded. "Okay, good. I'm going to find Mr. Mustafa." I said, and with Sofia, we went to the meeting room to find him.
Entering the meeting room, I saw Mr. Mustafa looked mad on his phone. As soon as he looked towards us, he sat up, looking at us, "Is there a reason why the digital team isn't here for this meeting, and why is the internet not working?" He asked.
"There's been a leak. A lot of the teams and departments are affected." I explained. "What?" He asked in disbelief. "Hadia is right. There's been a leak, some of the computers shut down because of the water, but we managed to save the rest." Sofia added.
He slowly nodded, "Well, we can't get any work done like this. But since the equipment is affected, I think the best thing to do is call off until the damage is repaired." He said after a while.
Sofia's face instantly lighted up as she walked towards me to give me a hug, but stopped after seeing Mr. Mustsafa. "Ms. Hadia, let everyone know that we'll be off until further notice." He said and walked out of the meeting room.
'He really can't sit in one spot for too long,' I thought, looking at the door. "Omg girl." I heard Sofia run into giving me a hug. "Why are you so excited?" I asked, stuck in her hug, "Girl, you don't know how long I needed days off. Working for Mr. Manic is so long." She explained as we started walking out.
"Did you know, once when the heater were broken, he made us bring in extra blankets and anything we needed to keep warm, just so we could continue working. I'm surprised he's giving us days off and that until further notice." She said, sounding really surprised. "Maybe cause the water is damaging the computers?" I asked.
