- Mustafa Ibrahim -
I sat in my office, thinking about my earlier conversation.
~
"What do you mean I have a month to complete Dada jaan's will?" I looked up to the lawyer sitting in front of me, who has also been my friend since childhood."You don't have a month to complete it. It's if you want to, or else you can just leave your family name, the company, and all the work you have done." Imran said, flipping through the pages, looking unbothered.
"This is absurd. Are you sure Dada jaan wrote this?" I asked him. Imran sighed. He pulled out a USB and passed it to me, "this is a video of when Dada jaan was writing it." He said.
Brushing my hair back, I looked at Imran like it was normal to him. "What?" He asked as I glared at him. "Could you have not said anything when he was writing this?" I asked."Legally, I couldn't do anything, and anyways, I think this is a good thing." He added. "Dada jaan wanted this, I didn't." I replied.
"Well, I can't say anything. You have a month." He said. "I can not believe it. Before he died, he wanted me to get married, and now that he's dead, he wants this." I said. "You should have listened when he was alive." He commented.
"Can't you find a loop hole?" I asked him, "as your grandfather's legal lawyer. no, I can't." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.
"I only have a month to find a wife. How am I even going to do that?" I asked myself, "You should have looked at the will six months ago then." Imran said. I looked at him, "Don't give me looks now." He said.
I read the letter again, "and what does the arrow and number one mean?" I asked. "That's part one of Dada jaan's will. You will get all his personal belongings that he left with me after you complete the first part." He explained.
"What do you mean, his belongings?" I asked, "his laptop, a journal, and an envelope." He said. I sighed, "Can he even do this?" I asked, "he already has." Imran said.
"The only thing you can do now is get married, my dear friend." Imran advised, "is there a description of what type of girl they wanted me to marry?" I asked in case they had written that too.
"Actually -" he started, I looked at him in disbelief , did Dada Jaan think of this too? "There is none." he said. I looked at him, ready to kill any moment , yet he sat there unbothered by me.
"You do know you are sitting in my office, right?" I reminded him, "and you know you can't even kill me." he added, which he was right.
"So it would be best if you got lost form here, I don't want to see anymore." I said, pointing towards the door. He sighed, packing up her documents, "I wouldn't leave, but I have a meeting to attend, but I'll meet you tonight." he said, leaving.

After that conversation, Imran left while I sat in my office thinking of what to do. One of the HR managers walked in while I was flipping through the files. "Sir, these are the final interviewees we'll be meeting today." He said, giving a short stack of CVs.I scanned through them when I stopped and looked at one CV that caught my attention. "Has there been a mistake? This person doesn't even have a degree." I said, looking at the CV I was holding now, "Sir, Miss Hadia's assessment was the highest between all the other candidates. We should consider her for the development team." He said.
"Last I checked, I am the owner of the company, meaning you listen to me." I said, in a stern voice. "Apologies, sir." He said. I read the rest of her CV, she has done multiple courses in coding, and has worked many part-time jobs. She's intriguing, I thought.
