You cocked an eyebrow as Chizu, your trusty crow, landed gracefully on the windowsill. She cawed softly, her eyes fixed on you as she relayed a message from Oyakata-sama. You had trained her to communicate calmly instead of resorting to her previous habit of squawking loudly.
You tilted your head and reached out to stroke her feathers. She began to explain that Oyakata-sama expected your presence at his estate as soon as possible. With a sense of urgency, you began to get dressed, your mind racing with questions about the sudden request. What could Oyakata-sama want to discuss with you?
You fastened your uniform, comprising a sleeveless black gakuran top and pants, along with a long-sleeved purple haori.
Once you were ready, you made your way towards his estate, watching to see if any other hashira were leaving theirs. Just me? Your habit of overthinking went into overdrive as you approached.
As you entered the meeting room, you couldn't help but notice the familiar figure of Sanemi sitting with his back to you. You scowled to yourself, What's this buffoon doing here? You let out a deep breath and kneeled next to him, awaiting the master's presence.
Sanemi glanced in your direction, his expression guarded. "The hell are you doing here, Yoshida?" He muttered, his voice tinged with annoyance.
"Don't speak to me right now," you mutter, biting your cheek in thought.
He scoffed and the door was slid open by Kagaya's son. Oyakata-sama stepped out from behind him, sitting infront of you and Sanemi.
"Good morning, Oyakata-sama. It's good to see you." you greeted sweetly, bowing your head in respect. "Likewise, Y/n." You sit more comfortably as he starts to speak.
"I've called you both here to discuss an important matter. The village of Biei is facing a dire threat, one that requires the expertise and bravery of our finest demon slayers. Reports have reached us of mysterious disappearances and a growing sense of disorientation amongst the villagers.
Y/n and Sanemi, as two of our most skilled and seasoned hashira, I am entrusting you with the task of investigating these disturbances and putting an end to whatever darkness looms over the village. Your mission is to uncover the truth behind these disappearances, confront the source of this malevolence, and ensure the safety of the innocent.
Go forth with courage and determination, for the fate of the village rests in your hands."
"We will not let you down, Oyakata-sama." Sanemi affirms. "You will depart in the afternoon. expect to be away from home for weeks." With respectful bow, you turn to leave.
You grimaced as you left the estate. Kagaya knew you hated Sanemi. Everybody did.
You two were constantly at each other's necks. He was best friends with Iguro, (who you also disliked,) and you were best friends with Giyuu. You were complete opposites in every aspect about yourselves.
You couldn't help but think that this was the master's sick way of getting you to get along with him.
"Why would he put us on a mission together?" You looked up at the wind pillar, brows furrowed in frustration.
He scowled at you. "The hell you asking me for? You think I want this any more than you do?" You sighed. "Look, lets just get this over with. Okay?"
"Whatever." He mumbled, walking off towards his estate.

You started collecting your things for the mission, your mind still reeling from the unexpected turn of events. Lui was already off on one with the flame pillar, so you would notify her of your departure via crow.
You attached your spear to the sheath on your back. You couldn't help but feel a sense of unease at the thought of working alongside Sanemi, but you knew that you had no choice but to put your differences aside for the sake of the mission.
Sighing, you left your estate. You saw Sanemi leaving his and you met him halfway. "You ready?" He asked mockingly, looking down at you with a taunting smirk. You rolled your eyes. "Of course."
He shrugged, "Alright." You could barely respond before he ran off. You groaned and started to run after him.
God help me.
