The first two months of the semester went by fast and the trio's friendship became much more solid. Eduarda liked Valdo very much, despite the jealousy she felt for thinking that they were dating, but she did not touch on the subject for fear of losing Igor forever and that was what she feared the most.

She was quite confused by the fact that the two spent much more time together than he with Valdo, not to mention that all his actions were almost always dedicated to her. In fact, the few times that Eduarda saw them together, without her accompanying them, it was in the library when they studied, usually with Igor teaching his friend. So she thought that they had a very weird relationship, maybe very reserved to hide from society, still very prejudiced.

For her, the best moments of the day were when they had lunch together and when they were sitting, leaning against the big tree near the university refectory, his favorite, and the dogs were always around, for a change. They talked a lot, but they also liked to be just together, without saying anything.

"You know," she said, "these days I dreamed that I had a son who was the most beautiful thing."

"Really?"

"Yes. He had gray eyes, that I remember well." She laughed and continued, mischievous. "Maybe you were his father, since you have gray eyes."

"Then I would be a good father." Igor smiled, dreamy. "I like children."

"I really wanted to have a son," she said, also dreamy. She turned to him and added, whiny. "I confess that if he were yours, I wouldn't mind."

"Do you think I would be a good father?" Igor laughed without realizing the double meaning. "Actually, I wouldn't want to have children so soon."

"Would it be possible for us to see what our partners or even our children would look like?" she wondered, ignoring the comment. She looked at him and continued, amused. "You, who are the magician, what do you think?"

"What do I think?" Igor laughed and thought a big nonsense, but controlled himself and continued. "The future is something that has not happened yet. On the other hand, certain subatomic particles can transcend the limits of relativity. Yeah, maybe it's possible."

"And would you be able to do it?"

"I could try to project an image that reinforced your thoughts and maybe you would see something," he said, thoughtful. "Do you want to try?"

Eduarda made a doubtful face and Igor smiled because he felt her dilemma, but he also knew that she did not believe that it was possible.

"Will it?" she asked, thoughtful. "How would you do it?"

"You sit in front of me and I put my hands flat in front of you. I create a special energy field and you think hard about what you want to know."

"I'm waiting," said the girl, placing herself in front of him and laughing, "but it's not worth looking."

Igor extended his hands and the girl got serious, looking at them. After a while Igor noticed the small glow and Eduarda widened her eyes. She looked for a while, blushing and becoming a little breathless.

"That's not funny," she commented, shocked and maybe upset. She made a gesture to get up, but he held her arm and said, softly:

"Eduarda, I don't know what you saw, but I didn't do anything. It was all taken from your head. If I bothered you, forgive me."

He finished speaking with a smile and she returned to normal, but Igor was crazy with curiosity to know what she had seen.

One day, not long after that, Eduarda leaned her head on his shoulder and commented:

"The sun is nice today." She sighed when Igor raised his hand and caressed her hair. "Neither hot nor cold. A perfect temperature."

"True. Have you ever thought that without it there would be no life?" Igor loved it when she leaned on him, feeling with pleasure the soft smell of her shampoo. "In all the planes of the Universe, without exceptions, there are suns."

"Planes?" She wrinkled her forehead and raised her face. "What is that?"

"The Universe is much more than you think." Igor smiled. "It is divided into planes. Imagine that the planes are like thick tapes that are superimposed and twist on themselves, like a helix or a DNA chain. Each of these planes contains billions and billions of galaxies.

Eduarda widened her eyes when she saw an image form between the friend's hands, showing what he was talking about. First she saw what looked like the intertwined tapes and then the image enlarged more and more until the constellations appeared that grew to become the galaxies and, finally, the solar system.

"There are some subatomic particles, like planions, for example," continued the young man, "that allow interactivity between the various planes. What in the past was known as parallel universes is, in fact, this: a single Universe divided into several planes that can interact with each other. People who are sensitive to these particles can open passages and visit other planes, because in all of them there are suns and planets with lives of the most diverse types. And the closest ones to our planet are always similar worlds in living conditions, as if they were parallel worlds, did you know?"

"If I knew?" Eduarda laughed and leaned her head on his shoulder again. "I know two things: the first is that you should be a physicist and not an engineer and the second is that you should be a science fiction writer or poet. You have beautiful ideas, not to mention your magic. I think, as a poet, you would be more romantic."

"Do you think that would be a fiction book?" Igor laughed very happily and leaned his head on hers, sighing. "What if it were true?"

"Of course it would be" the girl replied. "It would be one of the good ones and I would read it with pleasure. Are you serious that this could be true?"

"Would you read it?" He raised his hand and caressed her face.

"Of course I would." Eduarda took his hand and kissed it. "I would be your number one fan, Igor, you can be sure of that. I would read all your books, even if they were bad."

Igor forgot everything and got up, determined to kiss her, ignoring all the precautions he had been keeping.

When he turned to the side and pulled her hand the phone alarm rang, alerting that it was time to go to work and breaking the spell.

The girl did not notice and lost herself in her daydreams, especially because, every day Eduarda found butterflies coming out of her notebook or a beautiful red rose among its pages, rose that she kept with the others in a jar and, for her curiosity, never wilted.

She was so in love with him that, not to despair, she decided to concentrate her efforts on trying to find out who was the young man who kissed her, since that kiss moved her too much and maybe it was the opportunity to get a boyfriend and forget the platonic passion she felt. To disguise and maintain appearances, she always commented to both boys, usually at lunch or in the library. She chose to talk to both of them so as not to leave suspicions about what she really felt.

Many times, she saw Valdo shaking his head and laughing at what she said. He even once told her, mockingly:

"But you are a big fool, girl. Open those beautiful eyes, wake up and see if you forget once and for all your fake hero before true love gives up waiting and goes away."

However, he did not give her any explanation for that comment and the girl did not understand.
