"Where are we going, we've been walking for ages." I asked with slight annoyance coloring my voice.
"Heh just wait you'll find out soon, trust me, it's worth the walk." she replied, her smirk growing slightly.
"Come on, Nova," I urged.
"Ok, ok," Nova chuckled, giving in to my persistence. "So you know how the giant and human borders are merging?"
"Yeah, I've heard about it," I replied, feeling a bit uneasy at the mention of the borders.
"Well," Nova continued, her smirk widening, "I thought it might be a good idea for you to meet someone who can help you understand them better."
I took a step back, my apprehension growing. "What... no. Who are we meeting, Nova?"
"I know, I know," Nova said, her tone reassuring. "Just trust me on this, Amir. It'll be okay, I promise."
I heard Nova's words, but I couldn't bring myself to reply immediately. Instead, I looked down, fiddling nervously with my hands, unsure if I could trust her assurance.
"Fine," I said reluctantly, finally looking up to meet Nova's gaze. "Who are we meeting?"
Nova smiled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Youu," she said, exaggerating the word, "are going to meet Daniel. Although he's a giant, he's really cool, I promise."
I couldn't help but feel a surge of anxiety at the mention of meeting a giant, but Nova's reassurance did offer a sliver of comfort. Taking a deep breath, I nodded. "Okay, let's get this over with," I said, trying to muster up some courage. "Lead the way, Nova."
Nova grinned, sensing my apprehension but also my willingness to face my fears. "That's the spirit, Amir!" she exclaimed, placing a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "You've got this."
Nova's grin widened as she sensed my readiness to confront my fears. With a reassuring squeeze on my shoulder, she gently took my hand.
"Come on," she said softly, leading me off the beaten path and into the woods. The trees towered overhead, casting dappled shadows on the forest floor as we ventured deeper.
As Nova led me deeper into the woods, the rustling of leaves and the occasional chirp of a bird filled the air. Yet, amidst the natural sounds of the forest, I suddenly heard something unexpected, soft, rhythmic snoring that seemed out of place in the serene surroundings.
Confusion furrowed my brow as I glanced around, trying to locate the source of the sound. "Did you hear that?" I whispered, my grip tightening on her hand.
"Oh, that's probably him," Nova remarked casually, her pace quickening slightly. "I guess he fell asleep waiting for us." Her nonchalant response did little to ease my confusion as we continued through the woods.
"Let's not keep him waiting any longer." she said as she walked faster, pulling me along as we followed the sound of the snoring deeper into the woods.
