Rooh
Sometimes people tell me I'm high without actually being high.. and to be honest I'm starting to believe that.. because there would be absolutely no other reason why I'm fucking hell I would spill an entire container of orange juice on my dress this morning and then get my hairs stuck in the door of Kaynaaz's car door after reaching college.
Ummm one more thing I might've kind of landed myself a date with my crush of like several years since high school.. okay maybe a date is an exaggeration but come on give your girl some credit, I got invited to one of the most famous and popular parties of the college year.. and that too by the host.. who is no other than Avi.
Somewhere in between the lines of falling flat on my face in front of him and him helping me pick up up my 7382674 number of books, he told me about his "small" party and directly gave me an invitation to come to it.
Only after I caught my idiotic friends talking about the party did I find out that it was the party of the year and everyone was going to be there.
The only problem?
Papa.
If Papa gets to know that I went to this party, then I'm doomed.
So I did the only sensible thing that was to do and called my friend.. my friend's sister.
Ever since I told Kyra didi that I might've kind of developed feelings for Avi, she's been pushing me to talk and meet with him.. but it wasn't until a few days ago that I actually had a real conversation with him...
About cats...
Cats as in Riri who had somehow landed at my college campus and made Avi follow her across the campus to where I had been in the common halls.
Obviously, this was some master plan of Kyra didi and self-birthed kitten. So instead of taking help from Kaynaaz, who would've given me at least a billion lectures on how my self-worth and heart are too innocent to date or go on a date with a guy, I chose to text Kyra didi
And her being the Cupid she is, agreed to pick me up from the house and drop me to the party with the excuse that we'll be having a sleepover.
Genius woman.
And just as if on cue, I hear the doorbell ring off, sounding loudly throughout the house. I tightly wrap the long black raincoat around my body, hiding any evidence of the red dress I was wearing underneath and pick up my bag pack which was filled with "sleepover essentials".
"There she is, chalo aunty ab hum chalte hai we've a lot planned."
(There she is, okay Aunty now we'll go we have a lot planned)Kyra shoots me a look of understanding as soon as I'm down the stairs before giving Mom a tight hug and waving off to Dad.
"Rooh. Mujhe aasha hai ki aap me itni samajh hai ki aap aisa kuchh na kare jo aapko nhi karna chahiye"
(Rooh. I hope that you've enough sense not to do something you aren't supposed to)Dad shouts me a look, his eyes filled with a warning. A shiver travels down my spine but I shake it off before giving him a nod.
"Haan ji papa."
(Yes Dad)I give Mum a peck on the cheek before closing the door behind me and scurrying to the car parked in front of the house.
"Sab pack kar liya?"
(Did you pack everything?)Kyra grabs my bag as soon as I open the car door, rummaging through it to check whether I've everything she told me to.
According to Kyra Di, even going to a party needs essentials.
