Benji busted into my room at five in the morning and shook me awake.
"Benji?! What are you doing?" I screeched, and he held me up by my shoulders.
"Wake the fuck up, we need to go."
"Go where?" I say, squinting my eyes closed. He had pulled open my curtains on the way in. Even though the window was tiny, the sun was still coming up as brightly as ever. I shielded my eyes with my hands and wanted to punch Benji hard. It's great to know that even though I shrieked, no one came to check on me.
"We need to talk. Please get ready!" He dropped my shoulders, and I sat up, rubbing my eyes.
"Fuck, fine. If you're taking me to break up with me, I'd like to know." I grumpily yelled as he left my room. Of course, I was only joking, but damn, did he have to talk to me at five in the morning that badly?
My body ached as I quickly got out of bed and changed my clothes. I put on a cute cropped white top, a black hoodie for warmth, and some dark wash flared jeans. I felt like a cool art student.
"Alright, let's go," I say to Benji, shaking my keys towards the door. I brought my backpack with me because I wasn't too sure how long this would take.
I locked the door behind me, and we made our way down into the slightly messy street. Benji picked up a rock beside our porch and put it in his pocket. I could tell he was nervous about how he was fidgeting. I watched as he rubbed the rock in his pocket, and I just trailed behind him. He wasn't dressed like he usually was, and it made it feel like he was taking me somewhere to murder me.
"Is everything okay, Benji?" I asked quietly.
"I mean, kinda. I feel like we haven't talked in a while, and I've been feeling guilty."
"I don't blame you. I'm sure Adam told you about my freak-out. I wouldn't have wanted to hang out with me either."
"Can you tell me exactly what happened?" he asked. He was beside me now, looking at me.
"Fine, you have to swear not to repeat it to anyone." I held my hands up, and I nodded. I looked at him with my eyes wide and my hands still out.
"Oh- yes, yeah, I swear."
"Okay, I just fucked up. I did. I slept with Dean."
Benji's mouth fell open, and he stared at me. We continued walking, and I chuckled after a beat.
"Holy shit!" He emphasized it, making me shake my head.
"Yeah, I really thought he cared about me, but he kind of just kicked me out of his room and acted like it didn't happen afterward." I shrugged. He put his hand on my upper arm and squeezed, trying to comfort me.
"I'm sorry, Cami."
"It's fine. I want to forget it happened."
"I, uh, met someone too." He said, and I could tell he was messing with the stone in his pocket again.
"Did you? What are they like?" I asked.
"He is pretty nice."
"Awe, Benji!" I gushed, tapping him on the arm. "I'm seriously happy for you."
"Thank you. It's a new thing, though. I don't really want Adam or any of the guys to know." He shrugged, and I nodded. I took a minute and gave him a confused look.
"How new?"
"Yeah, they don't know that I like men as well as women. No one does."
"Benji!" I screeched.
