**Wonyoung POV**

As I walked to school the next day, I was nervous as all hell. How will Rei react to my letter? Confusion? Happy? Anger? A flat-out rejection? Worst of all: DOES SHE EVEN REMEMBER ME?!?!?!?

I couldn't let this ruin me. By the end of the day, I'll either be in a relationship or I'll want to cry myself into a corner. 50-50 chance for success; all good. I needed to calm myself by talking to Liz. We typically met up for a quick chat before school anyways. She eats breakfast at the cafeteria every Wednesday. Why Wednesday you might ask? Something about French toast and a squirrel? I don't know sometimes with her to be honest. I walked into the cafeteria brushing off the lint on my blazer. I saw her in the corner stuffing her face with pancakes.

"Hey Liz! Do you still need me to help you with physics?"

"Yeiwaps jwawxdaw"

"What?"

She tried talking again but decided to just nod her head yes.

"Alright. So come over to my house tonight?"

She nodded yes again. You'll start to learn that with Liz, sometimes the best communication is no communication at all.

"I need to ask Mrs. Kim something so I'll see you later"

I started to turn back but was pulled back when suddenly Liz grabbed my arm.

"Wonywahus pleasnijaw dosua8dwa be majias a-" she mumbled with her mouth still full of food.

"I'm stopping you there. Talk to me when you're done chewing, you Neanderthal" I quipped.

She finally finished her food, "alright, so what I wanted to tell you was---"

RING

The 8:00 morning bell rang. "Sorry Liz, tell me at lunch, I got a chem exam right now." I ran off to class.

~~

Lunchtime came around. The chemistry test I had was alright, there were some multiple choice I didn't get but I think I did solid. The rest of my classes were uneventful as always. I tried to find Liz at our usual lunch table. We sat with the rest of the Cheer Squad since the cafeteria got very crowded at lunch. The cafeteria was the most packed area in the school. It was quite popular for its food. It was a buffet style where the chefs would prepare a different cuisine each day. Today it was Swedish cuisine so I got some meatballs and raggmunk with a cup of yogurt and a fresh red apple. Gotta have my fruit! I arrived first between us two and started chatting with our friends. We discussed the latest gossip around the school. Like how Pyojung, one of the smartest kids in our class, was actually pregnant over summer vacation. I rolled my eyes judgingly. As if that ridiculous rumor could be true. Liz finally came entering through the door clutching her books tight, eyes glued to the floor.

"Liz, you good?"  I waved her over.

"Yeah no, I'm f-fine"

She definitely didn't seem fine. I slapped the seat next to me reserved for her. Everyone knew that Liz and I always sit next to each other so there was always a seat reserved for the other.

"Hey Liz, didn't you want to tell me this morning?"

She put her tray on the table and motioned me to follow her. All our friends were whispering to each other as if Liz and I were next on the gossip agenda. Liz was being weird but I know she won't try to hurt me or anything... right? In any case, she seemed very serious which is unusual since she only becomes like this when she has to do something that she will make her uncomfortable or feel bad. We walked to an isolated corner next to the greenhouse. The greenhouse is the one place in the school that no one goes to because the Botany teacher is an rude old woman, Mrs. Yang, she yells at any kid within a 5 meter radius of her "babies". I pray for whomever has to take her class. Everyone I know who's in her class seems miserable. It's even worse when you factor in how she makes you grow the smelliest and most precise plants for homework. We made sure to be at least 10 meters from the greenhouse, just to be safe, regardless no one was around the area anyways; not even Mrs. Yang.
